Why I'm leaving IWF

I haven't had fun here for a long long time. Coming here has been more of a bummer than anything else for me lately. To top that off, I have lost passion for role-playing, as you can see by my recent lackluster RPs.

But the last straw came in the past few days. It has been known by several members of the roster and IWF management that I'm not straight. It has also been known by James Shark, who was involved in a conversation I had in the chatbox with other people in IWF months ago when I "came out of the IWF closet". When confronted on his homophobia for what has to have been at least the 5th time by now, he was given Strike 1 by management. 1? Really? 1? Reaaaaallly? Then to top it all off, he announced he never knew about my situation and told me off. I was then told to "shut up and let it go" by others. I dealt with the same "let it go" shit growing up from other "friends" and teachers, and I don't need it here.

I happen to know that I am the 2nd non straight person on the roster that this unrelenting homophobic bullshit has driven away.

I may pop in on the chat box every once in a while, but I am done with "in ring" work here.

I just don't need this aggravation anymore.

I'm sorry that we have a 3 strike policy here man, i really am. I don't know what else you want us to do as far as just enforcing this shit or whatever else you have going on. I know that I personally have never treated you differently and have made a really big effort to tailor my rp's to not include sexual references or homophobic comments. I don't think it would be fair to Sharky or anyone else to give everyone a 1 strike get the fuck out policy man...I really don't.

First off, I'm going to apologize, because I'm going to put a few people on the spot here. Nothing personal...just my own personal observations.



In our defense, I think the other member left because he had a lot of real life things going on, and didn't have time to write anymore (assuming I know who this other member is). He wasn't "driven away" and actually left on good terms with us.



But that's beside the point. Here's where I stand on this.



As for what happened last night: I didn't see any issue whatsoever. From what I could see, Shark said it was a lame rule, Tim got upset about it, they argued about it, the end. That was it. I can't, and flat out refuse, to punish someone for not liking a rule. I don't give a shit if you don't like our rules. You don't have to like them, you just have to obey them. Alison hs expressed her dislike of the policy. I've said I don't like the policy...but it's in place. Suck it up and deal with it. However, on the flip side of that coin, don't expect me to take disciplinary action if some says the rule is "soft."



As for Shark getting away with a lot of stuff, I've taken a lot of the blame for that. Yeah, there are a number of people who are offended by that kind of thing. I, personally, have no feelings on the subject. Like, none. I couldn't care less if someone is gay or not. That being said, if someone makes jokes about it in an RP, I'm likely to read right through it and think nothing of it...where for others, that kind of shit pops off the screen and is very easily noticed. Simply put: Shark tends to get away with it because I don't notice it unless it's either really bad, or someone points it out to me.



Anyway...that's all I can say on that subject.



I'll be completely and totally honest: I have sort of mixed feelings on this. I enjoy talking to you Tim, you're usually a pretty cool guy, and fairly well educated. We've had our fair share of intellectual conversations, which is always a refreshing change from the usual "OH HAI TIM WELKUM 2 DA CHATBOCKS" stuff we usually deal with.



But I can't deny that there has been a lot of rising tension lately, and not to put people on the spot, but it's usually you and Shark that are the source of it. I had a sinking feeling it was going to end with one of you getting fed up and leaving...but I suppose that's the way of the world. Some people naturally don't like each other. Some people will never get along. I can't force people to be friends. I won't try. You two are incapable of co-existing though, and the constant bickering and complaining from both sides has been a real strain, not only on you two, but on IWF as a whole. Hate to see you go man...but maybe it's for the best.



You are, however, always welcome back, just as anyone else who walks through our doors is welcome back. I don't feel like you left on bad terms. I think it's just a lot of pent-up frustration that needed to be let out. But I don't really have my hopes up that you'll come back. I know it's been rough for you to stay here. Not a whole lot I can do about that. Best of luck in the future. Live to the fullest, my friend.

Truly sad to see TIMMAH go....I fully understand why you feel the need to leave though. If the drive to produce Top Tier shit isn't there then well....I have been away cuz of net issues and didn't see the build up to this coming and evidently missed the chat box dust up. Sharky's lil attitude started because of me this time I think and not you. I apologize if he got you riled up it's on me man. I understand fully why you would roll out if the feelings you express in that first post are floating around up in your head man. Know that folks like myself are always hear if you need an ear.
