| Despite how the match was written, Parker won the damn thing. It was written to look like a screw job because of the way The Empire needs to go creatively, and to keep Stygian from losing too much momentum when he's sighting in for one of the biggest challenges of his career, but in terms of RPs and votes, Parker won the damn thing. I didn't take a dive, I didn't "put him over". The dude saw it as his biggest challenge and he came out to fucking win the match and my hat's off to the son of a bitch. I've heard people suggesting here and there that maybe it was an angle. No. Parker won the RPs and won the fucking votes, and the Baron screwjob was added in for creative purposes. But Parker legit won the RP battle. | |

| It was some friends on Twitter via DM's. I was kinda worried that people here might that that because of the way I wrote the match. I just don't want the necessity of creative direction to underscore Parker's big moment. | |

| I can see how that might cause confusion. There were some points in that match where I was thinking "Damn...Parker's kinda getting buried..." like in the way that Stygian was fighting off everything Parker was throwing at him, and then some, while Parker was unable to win even with a biased referee and outside interference. The commentary and such kind of pushed this idea, so when I finished reading, I walked away thinking "Shit...Parker really kinda stole the belt."
IC, that's exactly what he did.
OOC, it was enough that I can see why some might think this is an angle, and Parker didn't actually win. Like a "He wins because the SL needs him to, but since Styg won the RP battle, he should come out looking stronger." Not the case.
Just my own observation on it. Great match though, and superb RP's from Parker. Very well done, man.

| Exactly, gameplay and story segregation. I realize what the match looks like, and a few friends asked me about it on Twitter. But that wasn't the case with the RPs. I was trying to portray a classic screwjob because of where The Empire needs to go, and where Styg needs to go moving forward. I watched a lot of Horsemen matches, a lot of Hogan's nWo title defenses and a lot of old Corporation matches to get the idea. I just don't want anyone, especially Parker thinking that it was an attempt to bury him or make it look like he didn't earn it. It was purely the creative direction that delineated Parker, Blaze and CC "stealing" the title. It had nothing to do with the quality of his RPs. | |

| Don't worry about me. If other people legit think I stole it though, it drives the bitching about the storyline on twitter. If more people see it, more people pay attention to us I would assume.
Might turn out to be a good thing.
I never once thought that for a minute though. I kind of figured what the match was going to be written like if I won. The bad guy never gets the clean win.
