Dropped The Ball Empty
PostSubject: Dropped The Ball   Dropped The Ball I_icon_minitimeThu Feb 21, 2013 3:32 am

This week I dropped the ball big time in terms of writing the show. I do have a reason, but you guys don't want excuses, you want results, and I didn't deliver. I am so sorry for that.

Every single one of the creative team apart from me had everything well and truly in hand, so if you guys are pissed about the late results, aim the aggression where it belongs. At me.

In particular I have to apologise to Eric Steel, who had to pick up my slack at the last minute. I know you are probably shitty at me, and you deserve to be, but everyone appreciates that whenever shit gets out of hand, you are there to pick up the slack. It isn't just you, but you are one person that always comes to mind.

The only thing I can do is promise that something like this will never happen again, that is if admin still wants me as a match writer. If not, then I understand.

I'm sorry.

Truthfully, I was more pissed off than chuck was. We wanted to get results up by Tuesday. That shit didn't happen, then as it turns out... we barely got some of the results up before noon. I didnt even know we were waiting for you until Chuck said you were the last one that didnt have your shit in yet. So I had no choice, Steel couldn't do it, and chuck couldn't do it. CC couldnt do it either. So I took the liberty of taking an extra match since I didnt have anything better to do ( I did actually) out of the kindness of my heart. The more I thought about it though the madder I got. We've had a week to get this shit done. If you couldn't do it you could've pmed someone. Just sayin'.

Yeah thats the thing with show-writing. Everyone has weeks where everything that could go wrong in their life does. I've had it happen, so has Chuck, Corey, everyone. But the problem with that is that people are still counting on you. As a show-writer, you have a responsibility to get your stuff done. And if you can't, you need to get someone else to.

I understand that things went wrong, but you need to tell someone. It takes 30 seconds to sign on to the site, and PM Chuck saying "hey Chuck, sorry but a lot of personal issues came up and I can't write the show". No one will get mad at you. In fact they will be way way happier if you do that rather than wait until wednesday or thursday before you tell anyone.

It doesn't take much effort to just tell someone you cant write. If you had told Chuck on monday, or even tuesday, he could have assigned your matches to someone else, and the show could have been done in time. Nobody would have been mad. But its when you dont tell anyone and leave it to people to scramble to fix it three days late, thats when people get mad

I really do hope everything sorts itself out for you Gordon. Real life can be a bitch, and I know some people here can take this game way too seriously. We all have to remember that this is just a game, and whatever reason that Gordon couldn't write the show, it's not an excuse, its a legitimate reason and we shouldn't be mad at him for it. But you still just have to take a few seconds out of your day and let us know that somethings up. That would prevent this from ever happening

Trust me BMac and Eric, you are telling me nothing I haven't told myself. I just really wanted to pull through. I didn't want to PM Chuck telling him I couldn't write because I was afraid it would be seen as a cop out, and even through all the shit that was going on I really tried to push through and get it done.

I didn't, and as a consequence everyone else paid it. I know it is no excuse, and you guys are 100% correct. Trust me when I say as mad as you are at me Eric, I am madder at myself. I love this place, and the last thing I would EVER want to do is fuck you guys around.

I'm sorry.

Yeah like Remi says, we're not mad. It is just a game after all. Just for next time, don't think that personal shit is going to be thought of as a cop-out. Because we want you to deal with that first and foremost. But giving a bit of a heads up is always a positive and will help us step up and take the load off of you while you deal with anything that's going on.
