I've done a lot of thinking the past couple of days. I've been doing this for almost 10 years, and haven't really improved at all. So I'm seriously considering retirement...

Your better then that. To me this has never been about winning or losing but about having fun.
And right now i HAVE A LOT going on getting ready for any other surgery so will most likely be taking some extended time off. But I will not quit...
I will return when I am ready. But I will return and I am not close to leaving yet
