Ethan Cage [vs] Steel Angel SA_zps35468d6c
=Reliving the past towards an uncertain future.=

*July 6th, 2013, local cemetery.*

It started with a nightmare, a image that I've become all to familiar with. It was the image of death, it became a custom as of late, my loved ones dying but with their death came with something positive: A gift, whether it was an experience, a lesson or a keepsake of sorts. While I grieve for the lives of cherished loved ones who gave me so much only to waste away beneath the lord's soil, the trinkets they leave behind for me.......it allowed me to make piece with myself knowing that I would have made the same commitment on my own death bed.

First my parents whom gave me the future that I set to make my own.

Then my girlfriend Kurumi, who loved me for who I am, not who I present myself to be. Women these days were so fickle, they only see people like me as just trophies, items that only to serve to stroke their own egos. Often I've been swarmed by said women who all want a chance to sleep with me or at the very least, get close enough so that they can run home with their head held high and brag to their friends and family with the words "I was with the Steel Angel, what did you do this week?"

They were just harlots, people who only crave for desire and nothing more, people like that have no respect for others much less for themselves. But not Kurumi, raised in a fashion similar to my own, she set to escape from the tides and traditions that bind her to what she saw as a cage of neglect. She found me, a person whom despite having a family that shared a different nationality, nevertheless imported the same traditions and tides into my mind. We were like birds of a feather, flocking together in union. But her death brought something greater: An understanding, I took that understanding and set myself to achieve what I set out to achieve.....I became a champion....and had that moment taken from just as quickly as I earned it.

But none of these losses were as harsh or as  emotionally draining as the most recent one. Darren wasen't just any person, he was my friend, my mentor, my father, my mother, he took me under his wing when he didn't have to, set out to sharpen my skills. It was through his methods that my skill expanded, from it I was winning matches left and right, held my own against the finest IWF had to offer and more often then not came out better in spite of my lack of stardom. I didn't need to be a main eventer 24/7 to know that I'm deserving enough and no one could tell me otherwise, not Brandon, not Corey or Nick and certainly not Shark.

But the gift he left for me after his passing was.........not nearly as grand as the man behind it.

The envelope that BM presented to me, it's a will no doubt written by Darren during the few moments he had left on his death bed. BM had all but confirmed that suspicion when I confronted him about it.

Yuko Isamu
You're kidding right?

BM
I'm not, it's about as legit as it gets mang. He told me personally to give that will to you, he even had me write it word for word since he couldn't physically do it himself.

I told one more look at BM then darted my eyes back to the paper, feeling each word inscribed burning deep into my skull.

-Dear Yuko Isamu
"By the moment you read this I'll likely be long gone from this world, I want to take the time to tell you just how much of an honor it was for me to take you in as my personal student. You've so much from the day I first saw you walk into the doors of Dominion Wrestling I knew you would be something of a legend. Anyways I'm not one for long goodbyes and mushy stuff so let me just get to the point. As you know the federation I'm working for will require someone to lead their new talent to be ready for the next generation when it's time for them to go out there and show the world what they are made of. I would have entrusted this to BM or Kayls but I just knew it had to be you, look I understand you're loyal to IWF and it's people and I respect that but you've done everything there is to do there. I think it's gotten to the point where you're only there because they need a high roller to keep the newcomers antsy but with some of these vets making their return I think you are in dire need of a vacation. So I'm leaving my company and all of it's spoils and foundations to you. This includes the following: The Training Grounds Gym back at San Diego, the federation's development camp and all it's assets and finally, the bottom half of the penthouse which includes my personal gym that we always use. As for the other half of the penthouse that is left to my wife, she deserves it. Speaking of which tell her that no matter what happens from here on, I loved her and will always be by her side even in death. I trust you with this request Yuko, you were always my favorite student."

    ~Sign Darren De Jean.

I took another glance at BM, the injuries I've received from the plane crash had not healed at all, in fact I could say right now I'm at about 70% and that's going to be an issue considering I have a match against James Shark less than three days from now. This was the last thing that I need to cross my mind at this moment.

Yuko Isamu
He's asking me..........to retire from wrestling?

BM
Not retire per say but rather take his place as the trainer for the new age.

There was a moment of silence, seconds became minutes, minutes ticked away like the timbers of a combination lock, intersecting together to open the door to a new day, a new horizon.

But this ain't no new day for me, ain't no sunshine where I'm standing. A dark cloud seems to hover over me and I'm not taking the ones looming over the field as the people who came to pay their condolences start to leave to continue with their daily lives. But rather a gripping dread just clutches over me, spreading across my chest and tightening around. I took an about face and starting marching towards the parking lot, quacking my pace even as BM calls out to me.

BM
Yuko........Yuko!

He attempts to grab my shoulder but out of instinct I twirl and my forearm stops just a mere inch from where the bridge of his nose is. He could have easily knocked BM and broke his nose and BM wouldn't be quick enough to stop him. However that wasn't the intent, the message was clear: Back away from me.

BM understands all too well and tries for a more diplomat approach, like trying to convince a mass murderer who is holding someone at gun point and BM the hardcore warrior who sorts such talks with head shots with a chair is not known for being civil.

BM
What are you doing?

Yuko Isamu
Funeral is over Braddon, what else is there left to do aside from going home?

BM
You're not even going to consider the will?

Yuko Isamu
What's there to consider?

BM
He trusted you with that will Yuko! He trusted you to do the right thing which was why he was willing to give it to you!

Yuko Isamu
The right thing!? I'm a fighter BM! My whole life that's all I've learned, that's my only calling, my only profession! You expect me to just throw all that away now?

BM
Well come on Yuko, he has a point I mean what else can you do over at IWF? You just gonna spend the rest of your life there chasing belts till you're too old and beat up to get out of bed? Even someone like me knows his limits Yuko and you don't have to stray from wrestling altogether I mean think about it: You have a great life, a beautiful wife with a baby on the way, a nice house, more than enough money to life off of and plus you get the development camp PLUS half of the penthouse! The way I see you have the best of both worlds here! Why not just retire now?

Yuko Isamu
I have a match against James Shark in less than four days, loser leaves IWF and you're out of your damn skull if you think for one second I'm going to miss out on it!

BM
Well here's some food for thought for you........just throw the match away.

I look straight into his eyes, for a moment I couldn't just believe what he said just then.

Yuko Isamu
Run that by me.......one last time.

BM
I said throw the match away mang! You have nothing more to prove, just live out your life, Darren trust you and me and Kayls trust you. Do the right thing, just give up this reckless crap, you don't need IWF, everything you want........you already have it.

I didn't answer him, I couldn't even look him in the eye, instead I just turn away and started to walk towards the street once more only turning one last time to glance over to BM who stands there.

Yuko Isamu
See you Sunday.....................mang.

With that I walked around towards the abyss, never to stop or turn back ever again.

Ethan Cage [vs] Steel Angel 394599_orig1
=I'll be back.=

The match between Steel Angel and James Shark received much hype as it should. Yuko during his time had racked up an impressive streak leading towards the match, including getting a huge win over then champion Ethan Cage however the loss to Aries followed by that horrible plane crash which made Yuko miss Ragnarok made all that momentum drop deeper then a stone sinking into the deep blue sea.

Didn't help that the death of his friend and mentor combine with the fact he had less than a week to recover from the crash, to say he's not 100% percent both mentally and physically would be considered in most cases the understandment of the decade.

But Yuko being the fearless fighter he's always been, even with his skills considerably impaired took it to the two time Heavyweight champion, even going so far as to get many near falls during the match, two which were way too close for Shark, closing then he cared to admit. Indeed if one were to look closely at Shark's face, you could tell there's a case of worry etched in his face. This was clearly not the easy match that he was lead to think, he thought he was going to put this "white boii" down with no issues yet when a man's career is on the line, one can imagine the lengths they would go to ensure their stay. Between the plane crash, the loss of a mentor and a friend, the will and being told by a person whom he considers his best friend since Duke Dice to throw the match away, even with all these set backs weighting him down Yuko did not give Shark any satisfaction in making him his bitch. Sure Shark had taken it to the youngster in the early going but Shark so found himself to be biting off more than he can chew, Yuko even managed to reversed his Swag Out, the finisher that few have ever kicked out of and even fewer have reversed. Yuko thought he had Shark right there and then but Shark showed why he's a former two time champion, regardless Yuko kept fighting, long after his body should have been broken down, long after he should have exhausted every once of energy he had in his system. Somehow, someway he's still going then finally Yuko had Shark right where he wanted him: Positioned for the Final Judgment, ready to send the shark home.

But he slipped, that signaled the end of Yuko's chapter, the moment his hands slipped from Shark's body and he fell to the ground. Yuko knew from there and then it was over for him but still he attempted to deny fate but was a moment too late, a vet like Shark would never let a mistake like that go unpunished and he made Yuko pay in spades. One Swag Out later and Yuko found himself on the ground, even after being drained of everything he attempted to summon the power to kick out as the ref counts the pin.

Ref
One.........two............three!

Yuko tried to kick out, but was too late. Just like that Yuko's career as a IWF athlete had come to an end. Yuko wanted to deck Shark so badly but he was a man of his word, he told Alex he accepted the challenge, signed his name on the dotted line, loser leaves IWF. Yuko lost and thus, he has to leave the company whether he wants to or not is irrelevant to him.

He didn't give Shark the satisfaction, even has he's signing the good bye song and waving him off, Yuko just walked away head held up high as he takes one last look at the arena before him. Part of him was going the miss all this but Yuko had no regrets......somehow he knew this was bound to happen but for him it was far too soon.

Darting people left and right, he received thank yous and pats on the back from local athletes both familiar and new. He masked a fake smile, hiding all the sorrow that was eating at him from within. As he made his way towards the end he was confronted by the last person he'd never expected to see again.

Alison Williams.

Yuko Isamu
What the hell are you doing here?

Alison Williams
Didn't you get the memo? Shark invited me.

Yuko Isamu
Shark ain't even an active competitor in IWF.

Alison Williams
And neither are you!

He smiled at that remark, something that Alison wasn't expecting. But she was full of it and she wasn't going to let a perfect moment to gloat go to waste.

Alison Williams
It's just as I've said at the beginning, you were never cut out to be among the best of IWF has to offer!

Yuko Isamu
Big words coming from a person whose only means of being relevant is by sucking off the ego of every man in power ever known. Speaking of which how's Brenton these days? Heard he's been having major issues maintaining that washout he calls a federation.

Alison Williams
Hey you leave my boo bear out of this! His federation is made for true champions! Not losers like you!

Yuko Isamu
Really? Well let's see here......Dan Alexander, Hostyle Jones, Robbie Hart, Johnny Styles, Nick, if these are you idea of "true champions" then there's no hope for anyone much less a worthless bitch who tries to hard to mean something to this company because ironically enough she doesn't get any of it from the place she has the nerve to call her home.

Alison Williams
W-wh you little fu-

She didn't get a chance to finish that sentence, Yuko moved in with speed that could rival Jason Hawk in his prime. He caught Alison with a crisp left hook then pummeled her with a series of lefts and rights before throwing a massive roundhouse that likely shattered a few teeth. By the time Yuko was finished, Alison was sprawled on the floor coughing blood as it seeped from where her nose broke. Compared to her condition before, she looked like she went through ten rounds in a cage match with a angry bull.

Yuko can only smile, as he turns towards the exit.

Yuko Isamu
Sweet dreams Alison.

He left the place never looking back.

To put it in perspective, what Yuko did wasn't karma, it was closure.

Ethan Cage [vs] Steel Angel 394599_orig1
=A second chance.=

Three months have gone by without hardly any incident, a few things have chanced since Yuko had hanged his boots. While he didn't the idea of giving up his dream of being an full time athlete, after his match with Shark there wasn't much a choice and as a result he honored his teacher's request. So he started working for Darren's development camp and hated every minute of it. Yuko had always told himself that as far as teaching is concerned, he wasn't really good at it in fact he seemed better at ending careers rather than enhance them. This was evident during his time in IWF has he retired a nice list of people from Cody Taylor to Ethan Cage, James Shark and Robbie Hart. All but one returned to avenge that humiliation and it was a justice well served, he didn't have to like to man but he had to respect the fact that he did what everyone else tried to do an fail: He retired the Angel. That fact didn't sit well with him but unlike Shark Yuko wasen't just going to cry and bitch about it, he can live with himself on that regard.

Yuko can hear Marley tending to the crib, he hadn't forgotten about his new pride and joy. Just two weeks ago him and Marley were blessed with a wonderful baby girl whom they named Rin. Yes while Yuko had missed being in the squared circle he had to admit that the life he's living while uneventful was very relaxing, almost a vacation. The hustle and bustle, the constant travel from place to place, barely spending less than three hours with your loved ones before crunch time. Yes Yuko had grown to enjoy the new bound freedom that came with his retirement and yet........he still felt unsatisfied, part of his still wished to be in that ring right at this moment, crushing skulls and such. He would love nothing more than to make his child pound of his daddy, proud of the fact that her father is a fighter and an accomplished champion and would have wanted to see him in action.

Sucks he wont ever get that chance now.

Still though while I love the fact that I'm no longer moving from place to place everyday, I really wouldn't mind going back into that ring even if it's for one night only.

Marley heads out of the room, her belly reduced back to her normal slim size after giving birth to her child, their child Yuko still can't wrap his head around the fact that he's now a father and to think that less than a year and a half ago he only met this woman after freeing her from the cement chamber during the live or die match only to have her become the closest person ever to him, closer than his relationship with Kurumi.

If only he knew where the sisters are right now, even though he swore to watch over them he felt it was best if he vanished from their sight. After all he still felt guilty for being the cause of her death three years ago.

Has it been three years? Time sure does fly don't it?

He meets his wife's gaze and kisses her, their lips feeling he taste of the other. He breaks away and so does she, taking a moment to fill in the silence between them.

Yuko Isamu
How's the kid?

Marley Isamu
Sound asleep, she's been really active all morning.

Yuko Isamu
I wonder whom she takes after.

She doesn't resound but instead just smiles, never has Marley been a happier person, going from being raised in a broken home with a abusive criminal for a father and a drug fueled lunatic who thinks jack Nicolson is the devil for a brother to being in one of the best houses with a man whom became a better protector than her brother ever was. He even protected her from him, a true testament to the love that the two shared and now they have a family, his family and Yuko is going to make the most of it.

Marley Isamu
Something wrong Yuko? You seem........preoccupied.

Her voice snaps him out of his state, indeed his mind has been wondering for quite some time. As if he's still trying to comprehend the fact that he's no longer part of IWF, that he has a family and now runs a camp that used to belong to his teacher. He almost never went back to the penthouse anymore, decided that his wife needed time alone to cope with the fact that her husband is no longer of this earth.

Yuko Isamu
You can say that it's just............I still can't see myself carrying on Darren's legacy. I'm a warrior not a teacher, I'm too young to be teaching these kids, heck I barely get by with just teaching myself never mind someone else! I guess I still miss him.......even after all this time.

She doesn't say anything at first, it's been hard for him even after all this time. Even though Yuko had everything he could ask for: A family, a long lasting home and a lucrative job of prepping others for their time to shine in the spotlight. Even after all that he see feels uneasy. She missed him as well, all of them did, BM and Kayls mostly being Darren's closest allies besides Yuko.

Yuko Isamu
I'm going to go take a shower, I need to........clean myself up a bit.

Again Marley doesn't say a word, her expression understanding enough, Yuko needed a moment to be alone with nothing but his thoughts to guide him, to help him through this conflicting emotion that threatens to eat away at his conscience.

Phone started ringing just at the exact moment that Yuko stepped out of the shower, while able to don a pair of pairs he was still topless. Not that it bothered him one bit, he's used to being seen without a shirt on. Upon picking up the phone Yuko took a moment to dry himself up a little more before placing the phone next to his ear.

Yuko Isamu
Hello this is Yuko speaking.

The response he got caused him to almost drop the phone.

Alex Dillinger
Yuko Isamu? This is Alex of IWF, I have a favor to ask you.........how would you like to receive a Legends contract?

Yuko Isamu
A contract? Why what for?

Alex Dillinger
I need someone to face Ethan Cage at IWF's biggest event From the Ashes, and you're one of the only people I know to have the star power to make this work.

A smile form in his face, seems his prayers have been answered after all.

Yuko Isamu
So........where do I sign?

Ethan Cage [vs] Steel Angel 394599_orig1
=One last shot.=

Battle Grounds is live at Corey Casey's Hall of Fame ceremony in Philadelphia. Ethan Cage has just now entered the area and the crowd is just letting him have it though the man himself doesn't seem at all fazed by this having been used to this sort of treatment. Instead the former Heavyweight champion starts demanding a challenge for From the Ashes, the crowd chants for James Shark knowing well that he made his retirement public just two weeks prior. Instead what they got was not what they expected.

The lights fade out as the sound of a bell tower rings throughout the arena, a few more moments fly by before...

"Unleash the warrior within!"

Pyro sets off from both sides on the entrance ramp in the form of a pair of angel wings with the words "Heaven's Gladiator" appearing in crystal blue letters on the titantron. A single platform can be seen being lowered at the ramp revealing Steel Angel and Marley Jones standing at the center. Steel Angel is wearing a white and blue warrior tunic with angel designs decorated on the back and a gold cross shape tapestry on the front. Marley is wearing a light blue warrior tunic with feathers decorated on it and long leather boots. Steel's long black hair flows in the air as he stares at the crowd before him.

Death until the dust, and we're waiting
Ruined in the rust, of our craving
It feels like, it feels like!

Don't you know the cost, of your betrayal?
You're the one that's lost, you're gonna fail
It feels like, it feels like!

Steel Angel and Marley jump off the platform and they both bow before fans as they shower them in cheers.

*CROWD CHEERS*

Tom Foolery
I can’t believe it! It’s Steel Angel! He’s here and he’s answered the bell to Ethan Cage’s challenge!

Preston Poppycock
Oi this is anticlimactic mate, I wanted James Shark and so did these people.

Tom Foolery
I figured since you’re such good friends with the boss that you’d know about this an advance but I stand corrected.

Preston Poppycock
Piss off, me and Alex are close mates we go way back!

While the crowd cheers slowly begin to die down Steel Angel steps forth as Marley claps for him. A semi-emotional Steel Angel raises a microphone to his lips looking at Ethan Cage with conviction.

Steel Angel
Ethan Cage you wanted a challenge? You’ve got it!

*CROWD CHEERS*

Steel Angel
James Shark the man that had me removed from the roster until Alex Dillinger called me offering me a NEW contract. Yes James you may beat me in a match and while I’m a man of my word I left...however it’s painfully obvious to me that the fans needed a hero and that YOU Ethan Cage needed an opponent, someone to SHUT-YOU-UP for good!

*CROWD CHEERS*

Steel Angel
For however long the IWF needs me I will forever be here! At From the Ashes Ethan it will be YOUR...FINAL JUDGEMENT!

*CROWD CHEERS*

Ethan Cage screams at Steel Angel to hop in the ring right now. Steel smiles holding his arm up pointing at the FROM THE ASHES banner that hangs high up behind Ethan Cage. Steel can only smile at his foe, timing could not have been more perfect for Yuko to come back at From the Ashes.

Ethan Cage [vs] Steel Angel Steelo_zpsd456abfd

Well as the old saying goes it's great to be back, I'm sure a lot of you have missed me? It's just as I said before, remember a while back I said that I will still be here while Shark runs back to whatever promotion he was in and the world just keeps spinning like it always does.

Took a few months but I managed all the same.

Ethan fucking Cage, you and I are certainly no strangers when it comes to sharing this ring together. See the main difference between us is you like to think you know you're the best at everything you say and do and as for me? Well I just know I am the best at what I do, I mean look at everything I've achieved. I might not have held the biggest prize more so than you or held it as long but who says you have to hold the top prize to be called the best? Sure being a Heavyweight champion is a great feat in on itself, to be able to defend it once or heck even twice is even greater still but ask me this: How many people you known have ever become Triple Crown or heck even Grand Slam Champions? I can count all the Grand Slam Champions in just one hand where as I can count the number of Heavyweight champions on both.

And then there's the battles you and I have waged, we've only fought.....three times that I've recalled and if memory serves me well and trust me it has I've buried your egoistical ass twice where as you've only beaten me once and even then in spite of your so called "god given" talent you've ended up having a harder time putting me down then you thought before and the worst part about that was? I wasn't even trying. Call it ego, call it being cocky, call it arrogance, name what you will but you know damn well that I'm right Ethan. The fact that you even had to resort to playing mind games with me by handing me those coffins containing elements of times long since forgotten. I mean who remembers my time as New Blood champion anymore? Who even remembers when I don that stupid black kimono? No one, not even me because I don't bother living in the past like you do Ethan, I don't allow petty grudges from past times to cloud my judgment and while you've hoped to get the great black shark to face you at the greatest show on the planet. Let's be realistic here Ethan, we both know you wouldn't last two minutes in that ring with him I mean shit the two times I've beaten your ass you barely lasted a minute and the other time you survived longer because we had a third guy in the group and even then you got buried it recorded time. It was that sinking moment when you realized that you're allowing your critics to get the better of you, even then at that exact moment you can heard them whispering to you: flash in the pan, paper champion, fake star the list just keeps piling up as we go our merry ways. Yet you took matters into your own hands, you defeated Griffin Hawkins and kept your belt safe for the time being only to have it snatched from you by a guy whom you said in your own words that you should have no issues beating and not even break a sweat. Well Ethan that's what we call karma and she's a mean little bitch! She doesn't like to be tempted and you've been walking that fine tightrope every moment you open that mouth of yours and ramble about you're awesome this and you're awesome that. Well for a guy who prides himself at being this untouchable highlight reel you really shown to be mostly just smoke and mirrors.

Me on the other hand, am a true definition of a human highlight reel, you should know Ethan I mean you've been in that ring with me enough times already so you should know that my claim to fame unlike yours ain't so full of shit. I've proven what I need to prove and you well..........you're just trying to save face because lord knows you've tried every trick in the book to make yourself look like a legit threat. From harming helpless fans to using actors to prove your point because you're not cleaver enough mount you're own comebacks and let's face cold hard facts here Ethan, you can't make a comeback at me. You have nothing ON me! You've already shown more than once than you're not on my level, champion or not is irrelevant to the cause. Every other person whom made the statements that you made they showed it when they defeated me in that ring and I can't say anything back because I can bring myself to admit that they were the better men.

You? You're just a pup who is desperately begging for attention, you want to have all eyes on you all the time because you know the moment people don't look at you, five minutes later they wont even remember your name and why should they? You're nothing to them, just trash and while you might think for one second your long ass rambling is going to intimidate me the slightest. I've got a little history lesson for you pal, I've been beaten down by people who made a living by sending their foes away on stretchers. What you're going to bring to the table ain't going to faze me in the slightest kid, the way I see it you're fighting a battle you know damn well you can't win and even if you could, you know you won't prove anything.

So shut your mouth, get your dick out of your mouth and get your ass in this ring and stop wasting my time because really? I've already buried your ass on two separate occasions and tonight on the greatest show ever in IWF? You'll be buried so deep, so badly that you'll have nothing to say about it, make up whatever excuse you think, wont get you out of this mess. You wanted it, you've gotten it, think you can destroy me? You the big bad villain going to kill off one of IWF's finest heroes?

Yeah keep dreaming Ethan, this ain't your turf, this is my domain, my realm. I've yet to lose here and I don't tend to do so anytime soon.

Time to hose out the trash, bow down to me block head.

Ethan Cage [vs] Steel Angel L

-Press Start-

The camera comes in on a crowd of people at this function, they are walking all about but there are IWF From the Ashes signs, banners and merch everywhere. The people are wearing Brandon Macdonald shirts, Tim Patrick shirts, and of course Ethan Cage shirts, just to name a few, so apparently we are at an IWF event. People are eating or at certain panels with random IWF wrestlers about, at panels or walking around. There are carnival rides that are themed with the names of IWF wrestler's finishers. A big event to say the least, and with all the From the Ashes reports and rumors and promos, this only proves to be one of IWF's biggest events. As the camera pans, we see Bobby Ball, Ethan Cage's agent. He's wearing a black polo and comfortable slacks and a thick gold watch. He's on the phone looking for pressumeably his client Ethan Cage, he walking about the event. The camera goes to Ethan Cage, sitting in a vehicle looking out the window. No title, and helping the champion get a win over Griffin Hawkins and Jason Gabriel and getting stuck with a has been such as Steel Angel. But Steel Angel has been there in Ethan Cage's career, meaning, he's beaten Ethan Cage on more than one occassion, and Ethan Cage has beaten Steel Angel. Though they've never really had a rivalry going, their record against each other has not been ignored amongst each other. Ethan Cage is going to this event in protest, but understands it's part of his job. He'd much rather be training for Steel Angel, the very agile and speedy Steel Angel, a former world champion in his own right, a briefcase holder as Ethan was, as well. Steel Angel since then has been so close to the limelight, but never really reached where he once was. Blaming everyone but himself for him never reaching that spot again. Ethan Cage must deal with Steel Angel again, before his return match with whomever the IWF Champion is. As of this week, Ethan's name was mentioned in a way to get people over, they try to talk about how bad ass they are because of what they did to Ethan Cage but then try to say Ethan Cage was nothing at all. Well if this two time IWF champion was a nothing, why is he being brought up in your promos to make yourself look viable, because you know Ethan Cage is everything he says he is. He will go down in this business as one of it's legends, and you all get to live out his career, experience what will be known as one of the best times in IWF history. Everyone is worried about James Shark and the retirement of Corey Casey as well, even having a show dedicated to what he's done for IWF. A reminder, yet why, Corey Casey has never let us forget what he's done for IWF, so no reminder is needed.  And the spotlight is on Brandon Macdonald versus Gordon Fury, and we all pretend to not know the outcome of that match. We all pretend to not know the caliber of the man facing the champion. Gordon Fury is in over his head, and Ethan Cage has to watch others play champion with his belt, as well as a man trying to reclaim his glory days, at the expense of his belt, and all these thoughts happen within Ethan's head.

Driver: We are but seconds away from the event, sir.

Ethan: This event look poppin'?

Driver: Quite sir.

Ethan Cage [vs] Steel Angel Velvet+Sky+New+Hottest+HD+Wallpaper+2013+06

Rayne: And it's about to have it's king make an entrance.

Ethan grins.

Rayne: There it is, a smile, you've been in your head all day.

Ethan: It's the day before From the Ashes, of course I am. I'm taking on Steel Angel, and him and I have a history, he's taken advantage of me while I was at my lowest, the week I went to hell and a week I didn't promote my match, and yet, he walks around like he owns me, like he beat me legit. I've sent this man home in a coffin and yet, his chest is out like he's a somebody. Against me, his little ego is going to get shattered.

Rayne: Okay babe, it looks like we're here.

Ethan gets to the bottle of Patron on his right, lifts it and takes a swig direct from the bottle.

Rayne: Very classy.

Ethan: No time for that.

From the outside, the crowd parts to see a big Black Hummer come through.

Ethan Cage [vs] Steel Angel 2008_hummer_h2_sut_luxury-pic-16484

The hummer reaches pretty much toward the middle of the event, with the staff making a path for the vehicle. A staff member walks up to the driver.

Staff: What the fuck do you think you are doing, this was never discussed, this is a total disruption of the event. We are going to need you to go to the parking garage.

The driver looks back at Ethan Cage.

Ethan: We're not going anywhere, come get my door.

Driver: Well, you heard the man, we're not going anywhere.

The driver opens the door and walks over to Ethan's door to open it. Ethan steps out in a suit and sunglasses and Rayne steps out in a pink outfit but there's something different about this outfit, which we will figure out later. Instantly cell phones are brought out for pictures and video, screams and calls of Ethan's name are heard.  Ethan walks up to the staffer.

Ethan: What's the problem?

Staff: The problem sir, is that you're parked dead center in the middle of this event.

Ethan: That's right.

Bobby: Here's how we solve it. Sir, this is Ethan Cage.

Staff: I know that.

Bobby: You do, then you should understand that Ethan Cage just came through the event in a black Hummer and you could make money by having people take pictures in-

Ethan: Next to.

Bobby: -Next to it. Wouldn't that make even more money for the event?

Ethan Cage [vs] Steel Angel 293.piven.jeremy.092108

Staff: I suppose it would.

Bobby: There now, we can all be civilized, go get whomever you have to and let's set that up.

Staff: I don't work for you.

Bobby pats the man on the back.

Bobby: Of course you don't.

The staff member runs to set everything up. People are already taking pictures of or next to it.

Bobby: That takes care of that. Okay E, how do you feel?

Ethan: I feel fine.

Bobby: You'd rather be training?

Ethan: Right.

Bobby: We'll get to that. All you have a promo to cut here, maybe answer a few questions and a meeting with a winner of a raffle they had online.

Ethan: What's that?

Bobby: Winner gets to meet Ethan Cage, that's what they won.

Ethan: Sounds time consuming.

Bobby: Always the optimist.

Ethan laughs.

Ethan: Fine, let's just get it over with.

Bobby: And Rayne?

Ethan: She's ready.

Bobby: Okay, there was a local woman that was trying to get her foot in the door and none of office want their divas to be accidentally hurt before From the Ashes, so I brought up Rayne and they had no problem with that. Now as long as you both don't, we'll move forward.

Rayne: I'm fine with it.

Ethan: As long as she's down, I don't care.

Bobby: Okay, I'll let the event staff know.

Bobby leaves.

Ethan: You really ready for this?

Rayne: Yeah, come on, a chance to kick someone's ass, you serious?

Ethan: Cool deal.

Kid: Hey Ethan, can you hit me with a chair?

Ethan laughs.

Rayne: That was strangely cute.

Ethan bends down to the child.

Ethan: Wish I could little one, but I'm in a suit and I don't want to get blood on it.

Kid: Thanks Ethan.

Ethan: How about a picture?

Kid: Sure thing.

The parents bring out a camera and take a photo.

Kid: Thanks Ethan.

Ethan: No problem.

They leave.

Ethan: You don't find it weird that they let their kid ask me for a chair shot?

Rayne: If someone will marry a videogame character then really, nothing much can surprise you after that, except Ben Affleck being casted as Batman, still has me scratching my head.

Ethan: Don't remind me.

Bobby returns.

Bobby: Okay, it's all set up, you're the next match Rayne, against Vicky Broomer.

Rayne: Sounds legit.

Bobby: Okay, you guys ready, I have to walk up to the back panel for her entrance.

Ethan: Lead the way.

Bobby walks Ethan and Rayne to the destination, while people are sneaking selfies with Ethan or Rayne all along the way. Once they reach a mini locker room.

Bobby: Okay, I'll knock when they are ready.

Ethan: This is going to be interesting.

While Rayne takes her pants down to reveal wrestling gear under, tight pink wrestling trunks/panties.

Ethan: Maybe we'll have our own wrestling match in here.

Rayne: You better behave.

Ethan: Damn you look good.

Rayne: Thank you baby.

Knock/Knock-

Rayne: Okay that's me.

Ethan: Kick some ass.

Rayne: Hey, would you do me a favor?

Ethan: Sure.

Rayne: Come out there with me, I'm a little nervous.

Ethan: It's not the actual pay per view.

Rayne: I came out for you against Gordon Fury.

Ethan: I didn't say no, I'm just saying Vicky Broomer is in over her head.

Rayne: So, you'll come?

Ethan: Be your valet? Sure.

Rayne: Don't put it like that, I'm just saying come down there and watch.

Knock/Knock

Ethan: Yes.

Rayne kisses Ethan with so much love and slips on her tight fitting hoodie and puts the hood on like Ethan. Heartless by the Word Alive plays over the speakers.

Ethan: Heartless huh, nice touch.

Rayne: Thank you baby.

Ethan opens the door for Rayne, and right outside is Bobby.

Bobby: How are we feelin' huh?

Rayne: Ready as I'll ever be.

Bobby: Well let's get to the stage.

Rayne and Ethan make it through the black curtain to see an awaiting crowd, the crowd a little confused to see Ethan in a suit but have gathered that this is his valet Rayne's match. They cheer as Rayne is hot. Rayne stops at the stage and lifts her hood to look at the crowd and then throws it back, but her style, she winks and then holds out her hands. Ethan grins. She walks down the ramp, slapping hands, she runs and slides into the ring.

Announcer: And in the ring, she is 5'11 and 119 lbs, she is Rayne!

Rayne holds her hands up, excited to be there, losing her cool, calm and collected usual persona, even jumping up and down in her corner, which is not disappointing anyone. Vicky Broomer, the person IWF is really here to see is in her corner.  The bell rings Rayne is cautious, Vicky boots Rayne in the stomach and sends her to the ropes, and Rayne comes back and is met with a clothesline, followed by a snap elbow drop. Instantly Vicky pins.

1

Rayne kicks out. Vicky lifts Rayne, Rayne punches Vicky in the stomach, rights and lefts and sends Vicky to the ropes, when Vicky returns, Vicky hits a running dropkick sending Rayne to the mat. Ethan has a look of slight concern. Vicky hits a standing moonsault, then gets atop Rayne and begins punching her while the other hand is in her hair keeping her head steady. Rayne kicks Vicky in the back of the head. Vicky falls to the mat, holding the back of her head. Rayne crawls to the ropes shaking off those punches and gets her head straight.  Rayne uses the ropes to pull herself up, Vicky rushes in but met with a spinning heel kick to  the face. Rayne is still taking her time  to shake off Vicky's onslaught. She lifts Vicky and hits a ddt, Vicky is down, Rayne goes for another ddt but Vicky gets in a Northern Lights Suplex pin.

Rayne gets a shoulder up.

Ethan: Damn, this girl is good.

Rayne is pushed into the corner and Vicky hits a spear. Rayne grabs her stomach and falls to the mat. Vicky sets Rayne up again, for another spear but Rayne lifts her legs over the ropes to her left and Vicky goes into the turnbuckle and to the mat. Rayne contorts herself to hit a split legged moonsault. Rayne lifts Vicky up and Vicky slaps her, they return slaps at each other other until Rayne ducks but Vicky knees Rayne in the face, and hits her own ddt. Vicky goes to powerbomb Rayne, she lifts Rayne up but Rayne pulls Vicky down with her legs for a hurricanrana. Rayne gets up and a groggy Vicky lifts Rayne and slams her down into a modified Anaconda vice. Ethan looks as if he's going to get into the ring, but Bobby shakes his head no. Rayne winces in pain, screaming out, Vicky has a demonic smile on her face seeing the pain on Rayne's face. Rayne lifts her hand about to tap out but shifts her weight rolling Vicky over to the other side, but Vicky holds on to the move, Rayne undoes Vicky's top, Vicky's instinct is to go and cover her boobs, Rayne gets up holding her arm. Vicky is panicking trying to cover her breast, the crowd going nuts, Rayne superkicks Vicky and down goes Vicky, exposed breast and all. Rayne pins.

Announcer: Here is your winner....RAYNE!

Rayne celebrates in the ring and Ethan slides into the ring and lifts Rayne onto his shoulders. In the corner of his eye, a teenager is wearing a Steel Angel shirt, Ethan gives him the finger. Rayne has her hands up to the crowd. A little devil and angel moment, Ethan proud of Rayne holds her up with pride. Rayne slides down and then kisses Ethan, the crowd awws and they both hold up the finger to the crowd. The crowd laughs and claps. They both head out, and the ref drapes  a jacket over the exposed Vicky, to which the crowd boos. They make their way up the ramp to see Bobby at the top of the ramp, going back to the locker room.

Bobby: You really should let her sign with IWF.

Ethan: Maybe. You did great out there Rayne.

Rayne: Felt really good, IWF mats have the right amount of give, you guys have it good here.

Ethan: Well, what next Bobby?

Bobby: I suppose we move on to the meet and greet of the raffle winner.

Ethan: Cool deal. You okay or do you want to rest?

Rayne: I'm on a high right now, I want to be out there.

Ethan laughs.

Ethan: Okay. Let's get this over with.

Bobby: He's by the contest area, and I'm told he's there now.

Rayne: Great.

Ethan: Yeah....great.

Bobby leads them out of the room and down the hall until they get to the outside, when Rayne is met by little girls that want her autograph.

Rayne: What do I do? This is a first.

Ethan: You put pen to paper babe.

Rayne: Very funny.

Bobby: Go ahead and take advantage, I'll get Ethan to the winner and come back for you.

Rayne: Okay.

Bobby continues until they get to the tent. Ethan's eyes fall on a man in military uniform and his wife. Ethan nods respectfully.

Ethan: Sup.

Bobby: Ethan Cage, this is Ryan Reilly.

Ethan: Nice to meet you, I'm sure you were waiting for some good guy like Gordon Fury or Griffin Hawkins, well you got me.

Ryan: Actually no, it wasn't to meet any IWF superstar, ...it was to meet you.

Ethan looks at Bobby, who shrugs as if he was innocent to the whole thing.

Ethan: Well, you got to meet me, more importantly I got to meet a man that is fighting for the freedom to be the prick that I am. So, thank you.

Ryan: Anytime, Ethan Cage just thanked me for my services.

Ethan grimaces.

Ethan: That sounded creepy.

Ryan: Hahah, I guess it did. While I am here, I just wanted to enjoy IWF wrestling, and I wanted to meet a man that says the things that you do. I know your views are not popular, you and Rayne are you know "heels" but you keep my interest and say shit other people don't have the balls to say. And you go out there and kick some major ass.

Ethan: Much appreciated.

Rayne steps into the camera's view.

Ryan: And thanks to her, we saw boobies today.

Ethan laughs.

Ethan: Yeah, we did.

Ryan: How do you feel going against a guy like Steel Angel?

Ethan: I feel the way I do when I go against anyone else, I'm going to win and I'm going to look good doing it.

Ryan: I can't wait to see that.

Ethan: Was there like three people that went into this thing?

Ryan: The contest, no, there were thousands, it was crazy, we all had to put a Youtube video out and it got judged by a panel and I was chosen. Might've cheated though, I wore this during the video.

Ethan: Well, it got you what you wanted, and that's how I do in that ring. I get wins by any means necessary, I could give a shit about the rules, in the end, having a conscience will limit you to going over and getting that win.

Vicky Broomer comes back in the scene and instantly Rayne gets in her face.

Rayne: Yes?

Vicky: Truce, this isn't about retalliation or anything like that. I just wanted to say great match.

Rayne: Oh, well, thank you.

Rayne extends her hand.

Rayne: This is Ryan.

Ryan giggles.

Ryan: I say your boobies.

Ethan laughs.

Ethan: Well, the whole event did, Ryan, let's be fair.

Vicky: Yeah, I know, thank you for the reminder.

Ethan: Who's this lady?

Indicating to Ryan's wife.

Ryan: This is my wife Georgina.

Georgina: Can I take a picture of you four to mark this event?

Ethan: Yeah, course.

Snap-
Ethan Cage [vs] Steel Angel 0

Ethan:  There ya go.

Ryan: I just want to say thanks again for this.

Ethan: Not a problem man, was fun, thanks for fighting for our country, again.

Bobby: If you please, IWF wants you guys to take some pictures for the website and magazine, so just stand there for a bit and they'll come in and take photos of you guys.

A slew of photographers comes in and start shooting away at Ethan and Ryan shaking hands, some salutes, and some playful fighting pics, acting like they are about to hit each other, choking each other and some with the women involved, all saluting. Ethan gives them a couple of From the Ashes shirts and one last handshake and the photos stop. Bobby leads Ethan back to the hummer when Ethan is about to get into the vehicle, he glances at the camera and notices the crowd around him and smirks to himself.

Bobby: It's happening now, isn't it?

Ethan winks. He turns to the camera and clears his throat.

Ethan: Steel Angel, at a time just saying that name meant something, but no longer. I mean come on Steel, you wrestle when you want to and you do it to glorify yourself, which is fine, I'm not one to talk but see you have such a self confidence problem. You think of yourself as the end all be all, but you are treated like any other wrestler, just another face on the roster. You even thought by leaving, this company would fall on it's knees and we'd all realize what we are missing and beg you to come back. But that didn't happen, did it, nope, the train just kept going along on the track. You know, when I was away from here, I knew the train would keep going but I know the dent I left, I know the plans that I had ruined, and though I thought it was something that had to be, it wasn't. Now you're back, and you're back against the one man that doesn't give a fuck if he breaks your neck or gets a simple pin. You came back and there wasn't a ripple in the water, hell, no one cares because they are busy with their own shit. You see, I was to have a match with James Shark, a legend, and he ran away from me, he didn't want everyone to realize he was just another punk bitch and that the real shark was the one he ran away from. No old dog wants the new fresh blood to put him out of his misery, because then he'd have to come to terms with his own inadequecies, that either he was never that good to begin with, or that he wasn't the man he once was. Steel, you're a part of this company, you were a champion a long time ago and much respect for that, but that only. You've never once given me respect, and really, it's hard for you to get your head out of your ass to realize anything going on around you.

Ethan: Though you've beaten me twice, when it comes down to it, I'm the all around great one, and yeah, you've beaten me when I was at my lowest, you have beaten me, congratulations, I'm sure it'll come up in your promo, as it should. But this is a new day, and you know I've beaten you, because you see the IWF released that limited edition picture of me hitting the lights on you and you landing directly into a coffin. You probably don't remember anything but you suffocating in a dark space and having to have people pry you out of that coffin. I did that to you, when I came back I hunted down every man that took me out of this place, and it ended with you. I righted the wrong, and placed a hurt on you that I know to this day lives on in your head. And that's why you know you're not going to win this week, that you will not rise from the ashes, but only continue to burn in your internal hell. With the realization that you were never anything special, that you were hum drum and reached a peak at a time of opportunity because nowadays, your name means nothing of significance. Not as much as you think anyway.

People are still taking pictures of themselves trying to fit Ethan and the vehicle in the picture without disturbing the promo.

Ethan: Is your will greater than my own Steel. I'm at a point in my career where I've just lost the belt and have to reclaim my name, and I'm putting it on myself to do so, I'm not like you blaming everyone else for the fact that you aren't famous, the fact that as flamboyant as your attire and moves are, that you are just a flashy jabroni. That you are the equivelant of a jobber, someone that Koko B. Ware would walk out and beat and do his little bird dance on. That's you, Steel, you will bow down to the real, once again, and I am what's real. I am far better than you in every way you could possibly think. I am more entertaining, my moves painful, and the fact that you are a hard core guy and this ain't a hardcore match, well I guess that's just to my advantage, isn't it.

Ethan: And you're American that adapted to the Japanese way of fighting, you're the biggest bore and no matter how you flash yourself up with the glitzy attire and pretty lookin' moves, there's no substance to you Steel Angel. You are a made up gimmick and everything that looks cool, you immitate and claim it as your own. How can you be hardcore, you spend more time on your hair than you do on your wrestling, you have no threshold for pain. Look at your file, you're trying to make yourself sound unbeatable and that you are an expert at everything, that you are a flexible and agile powerhouse...are you fuckin' serious? I've been in the ring with you on multiple occassions and trust me what is said about you on paper is not what I wrestle. I know your weaknesses and no matter what vibe about you you are trying to put out there about yourself I know the fuckin' truth and I know the man I've faced multiple times. I will go into the ring once again against the man that I face all the time. You see, you spend time in tanning beds, getting aquainted with Japanese stuff and kill yourself on sit ups, and a man like me, I break men like you. Men that grasp a minimum of everything and is not well trained in anything. You can pick and choose but unless you truly master it, you're a fuckin' dog and pony show. Steel, in that ring, you will never hold my jock, and you may think you're faster, but so did so many before you. You and I, at From the Ashes, we're going to have one hell of a match, with you doin' flippies and me beating the living shit out of a male cheerleader. I'm coming for you Steel and when I get my hands around your neck, you're going to wish you stayed gone. I bet you thought when you returned you would've gotten some peon, some "blockhead" that you could wet your feet on. Well you can thank James Shark that you're now facing one pissed off man, a man that is determined to claw his way back to his title. I don't care who wins the belt, because when it's my time to get back to it, I'll take back my title and that belt will grace my shoulder once again.

Ethan: Isn't that why you have to list off all these accomplishments, even though the IWF website does it for us, because you're so shallow and lacking in self confidence that you need to remind everyone that you are a grand slam champion, and the other stuff, you won championships, and some of those titles don't exist anymore, but you feel the need to tell everyone what you've done. Who are you trying to impress, or is this all to remind yourself who you once were, and live off of accomplishments you used to have. Like Jason Gabriel, as much as he distances himself from Stygian, he'll still use Stygian's accomplishments as his own, because everyone thinks that they need to change to stay fresh or try this or that to kiss ass, but sooner or later he will be Stygian again and it'll come back to bite everyone in the ass, because playing someone you are not, is just a plain waste of time and effort.

Ethan: Then last time we fought, you show me some coffins and act like any of that stuff is going to scare me, you've seen first hand what's happened to me in that ring, when the mat opened up with fire and I was thrown into that fire, you really think I give a shit about a coffin. You talked about how long it took me to get into the coffin and act like I treated you as a stepping stone, why would I do that, I have Griffin Hawkins and a tag team win over Jason Gabriel, you really think Steel Angel is ever listed off against people, I mean come on, even listing off my beat downs of Baron Tomas is better than listing off your name.

Ethan: You list off outside attacks as if they are wins over me, or that they mean anything other than you are a scared punk bitch. I'm going to take you to hell myself Steel, because you name off Chad Mason, and your fights with Robbie Hart and I ask you in this day and age with the current roster of IWF, what does that even mean anymore. I mean, you say I've used you as a stepping stone, yet, who is the man that claimed to have sent Ethan Cage to hell, who to this day still makes that claim, you. You try to use me as a stepping stone, but everyone knows that I'm still superior to you, that you are far beneathe me. You were good at one time against a roster that was beginning, a roster that didn't know what they had, and you've overstayed your welcome. You are here because you've accomplished things here, and if you go anywhere else, you won't have the clout you have here. But it's all falling on deaf ears these days, it's like the WWE, the people that return to put over the new roster, but in their head, they think they are going to relive their glory days, they are the name they once were. But everyone is here for those that don't abandon them, you claim to be one of the good guys, to fight for them, yet on a whim, you abandon them for months and come back and act like they all should be on their hands and knees in gratitude. Fuck you, you aren't anything in this company, and much less, you trying to keep your dying name alive is fuckin' pathetic. You think you'll be from the ashes, well you might as well be, because you have to restart your career every time you leave this company and are shocked that you aren't walking into a world title hunt. It's because nobody knows when you'll leave again, when you'll tuck your tail inbetween your legs and leave. You think like a woman, that the only way we will learn to appreciate you, is to have us live without you, and much like a normal dude, all we do is bask in the freedom that you leave us with.

Ethan: You talk about the mindgames that I put you through, that I've never beaten you in a fair fight, well, here is your so called fair fight, Yuko. I'm still going to win, and I'm still going to have my hand raised at the end of this, you'll see me just long enough for me to spit on your prone body before you pass out from the pain. You are not the only man that can adapt, hell facing a powerhouse like Jason Gabriel one week, and facing a high flier like Gordon or Griffin the next, that's what I live for, and you making yourself sound like some genetic hybrid just makes it all the better because I'm going to smash your face in with the heel of my boot and all you can do is think of yet another excuse why you fuckin' lost. I am the omega in this business, and in this company, I allow you to be around, because I like to see everyone laugh at you behind your back. To watch everyone shine you on like you're a somebody, only to see them laugh and point and disrespect you when you walk away. You have made no head way, with Underground, with the new roster, you're just another face in the crowd, but me, I'm Ethan Cage. I was the Champion when things were formed, and I have a rematch for the World title coming up someday, I am the now. Gordon Fury beat me, and I applaud that, but is it going to happen again, well, you've beaten me once and I beat the living shit out of you for it the very next match so you would know that answer best.

Ethan: You hate me for tarnishing your so called legacy, I couldn't care less. You stay around like you're waiting for that Hall of Fame announcement, like Corey Casey or Brandon Macdonald, just waiting to read your name, you're trying to make sure that this is all for naught. Well, I'm going to show you what staying around here is going to get you. you're not going to like it, and the way I return you to the locker room, well let's just say you might retire again. Because it's time Steel, it's time for you to stay gone, I know you know that. All this ever was, was through some guilt trip that you're going through with your dead parents, well, as sad as that is, think about this, if the Japanese are about nothing but respect, how much would the Japanese respect a man that doesn't respect wrestling, a profession that he's in. Perhaps that why you are the fuckin' sham that everyone sees you to be. No worries though, when you look at me across that ring Yuko, I want you to know that I have nothing on my mind other than breaking your face and back, because this is my time, this is where I need to succeed, this is where I make my own legacy, one that will not only exist in my head, as yours does to you. My name will be named amongst those before me, and believe me, it will be through you, I will run you over like roadkill and you'll be forgotten faster than people could pronounce your ridiculous name.

Ethan Cage grins, looks back at his hummer, then back to the camera.

Ethan: You come out to a song called Live free or let me die.....well, you've lived free for long enough...so I guess it's just time....I let you die!

Ethan holds out his arms and the crowd goes nuts and swarms him, burying him from the camera until it fades to....
