Dan Alexander: The PWA Chronicles RPpic

Dan looked at the two beaten body guards on the floor. One of them was still conscious. He went over and kicked him in the face. He walked into the office and went over to the desk. He pulled several drawers open until he found what he was looking for. A set of keys. With those keys in his pocket he walked out of the office and took the elevator to the main lobby. While walking out of the building one of the receptionists said goodbye. He went through the doors without a hitch.

How did he end up this way? Why did he end up this way? Everyday was just another job. Another punch to dodge. Another hit to throw. Another thing needed done. This was Dan's life. This was all he knew.

It seemed that it was just yesterday he was doing what he loved. He had just quit boxing and pursued his dreams by buying a ticket to Japan. For a few weeks he lived in a cheap rented room that was uncomfortable to say the least. During that time he searched for dojos to hone a new craft in. Eventually the son of a neighbor led him to a judo class he himself was attending. To Dan's surprise he was invited with open arms. He was expecting to be treated like an outsider or "Gaijin" as they would say. The opposite was true. He started the very same day he met Sensei Takato. Sensei Takato was a pretty cheerful guy. Even though he would hardly speak he always had a smile on his face when he was teaching the youth class by himself. He would then take the time to train adults. That is where Dan was put and at the end of the very first day he was about to leave when he realized he had no money for the class. Dan went up to Sensei Takato. Dan then realized he barely knew how to speak Japanese and could not convey his message to him. Dan stopped himself and in the corner of his eye he spotted a broom and a mop. He went over and took the broom and started sweeping. Eventually he looked up at Sensei Takato and he nodded at him. From then on he worked and trained at Sensei Takato's dojo.

The phone rang.

Chris
How did it go?

Dan
Well.

Chris
Great. Now you just need to pick up the package.

Dan
Right.

Chris
By the way I think it's great that you are the very first IWF superstar that signed up for the joint contract program.

Chris was Chuck Matthew's brother. Chuck in turn is the co founder of IWF. Dan had close ties to the suits up in corporate. Dan liked having cloes ties to the suits up in corporate. Chris himself was given a job there after retiring from in ring competition. Chris booked Dan however he wanted. The most obvious use was to ensure a loss to anyone he booked Dan against.

Chris
I was almost sure James Shark was up for it but you know how he is.

Dan lost the title to James Shark just weeks ago.

Chris
Well, I got to go. I have to have a meeting. Remember, you are under their jurisdiction now.

Chris hung up the phone. Chris was joking about the authority the PWA officials had over Dan now. But it was true, Dan was subject to their rules and regulations. In fact Dan had been placed in a Dark match with Zach Lightning. Dan knew nothing of Zach and really had no intention to. Dan just had to get through this match. And when he meant through he just meant it the same way when people say "I have to get through this day". Thats all. He knew he would win. And even if he didn't win that wasn't the point. He just needed to be in Trenton, NJ on September third.

One day Dan was taking care of cleaning equipment at the back when he heard a car pull up in front of the Dojo. He heard several people step out of the car and enter. Dan had a bad feeling so he peeked inside through the back door. There were four young men all in the same outfit. They stood before Sensei Takato. Takato stood in front of them but they all spoke in Japanese so he didn't understand a word of it. All he knew was that whatever the topic was it was very serious. Three of the men had guns. After a while they just turned away and left. Sensei Takato just stood there. Eventually Dan couldn't resist the urge and ask what had happened. Sensei Takato didn't say a word and even if he did want to tell Dan they did not share a common language to communicate on.

Chris
You got the package?

Dan
Yes.

Chris
Good. Get out of there. We don't want any unwanted attention.

Dan put his phone away. He put the package under his arm and walked to his car. Dan didn't care one bit what the package contained. He just knew that it was valuable to someone. Someone who would be willing to pay for it.

A few days earlier Chris Matthews got a call from a certain Mr. Briggs. Mr. Briggs worked at the local bank. He called Chris Matthews for a job. A job to steal valuable jewelry from the bank. He already had a buyer and the perfect plan was to drop it off during a PWA event. Virtually untraceable to IWF. And that's what he was there for. Thats why he was here in PWA. To do jobs such as this. He drove off in his car to the airport.

Weeks passed and there were no more disturbances in the dojo until one summer day. Dan remembers it was pretty hot that day. Seemingly the same people from a month ago arrived. They walked into the dojo quickly and called for Sensei Takato. They talked for a while until one of them pushed Sensei Takato. Sensei Takato then took him down with a throw but another guy just punched him in the face. They started beating on him. Dan heard the commotion and ran in. When he tried to get close one of them pulled out their gun and pointed it at him. Dan stopped in his tracks. He shouted something in Japanese but of course Dan didn't understand. They stopped beating the guy. Then they grabbed Dan and pushed him inside their car. As they drove off the lot he heard the distant cry of "Yakuza" from a bystander.

Zach Lightning. Let me tell you in person that you don't matter to me. I am not here to feud with you. I am not here to put on a good show with you. I am just here to win and move on. So before you get all sentimental about how this is an important match for you or that you really need to win this match to move up on the ladder, you might want to re-adjust your priorities. While you dream of title reigns, fame, and fortune; I on the other hand am dealing with reality. And the reality is that you will not win on September third. I mean what do you even have to offer? I'll tell you what: Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

I kinda feel sorry for you. Such bad luck to be matched up against me. What am I kidding? I don't feel sorry for you. Not one bit. You signed up for this so you gotta know that sometimes you will get the sharp end of the knife. What happens to you on September third is none of my concern. If you get hurt. If you get injured. If you go into a coma for decades while being fed through tubes and kept alive by machines that won't be my concern. So think about that before you try and play hero. Before you try to do something crazy to impress anyone. The image of you laying on a hospital bed as a vegetable should be on your mind lest you try to do anything stupid while in the ring with me.

I didn't come to PWA to play games. I didn't come here to play "next big superstar" or "next champion". I came here to complete my objective. That's it. Nothing else. So if you had any brains you would probably get out of my way right now, because if you try and stop me there will be hell to pay. I'm not so sure you can afford that kind of trouble.
