The Veteran
DATE: Friday November 11th 2011
VENUE: USS Carl Vinson - San Diego, California Since becoming the New Blood Champion less than two weeks earlier, Aric Voss has taken it upon himself to elevate the status of the New Blood Championship. The actor of the upcoming action movie The Veteran visited the men and women in uniform in San Diego for Veteran's Day. The New Blood Champion surprised them by his visit. It was his way of proving that he's not just another superstar to hold the championship like the previous champion, but he's everything what he claims the Hollywood Era represents. Think of it of his political way of promoting the good and upside of the Hollywood Era. Aric Voss (wearing a military green USS Carl Vinson t-shirt and sporting the military pants and boots, those in uniform usually wear) holding his championship is seen making his way through one of the hangars of spectacular USS Carl Vinson with Sergeant Hernandez.
Sergeant Hernandez - I know I told you this already, but you have no idea how awesome it is to have you visiting us for Veteran's Day.Aric Voss - No problem man! Actually it's more of a pleasure and honor for me to be here with the men and women that help keep this country a free and great nation. So where is everyone?Sergeant Hernandez – They are in the cafeteria having a Memorial Day breakfast. By the way, hope you are hungry! Before leaving his hotel suite in San Diego, California, Aric actually enjoyed a triple layer pancake with blue berries, syrup and whip cream. However 'The Champ' figured it would be an insult to not sit down and enjoy breakfast with the men and women of the USS Carl Vinson.
Aric Voss - Yeah.....sure!Sergeant Hernandez opens the door and both Aric and the Sergeant make their way into the cafeteria where some one hundred men and women in uniform are eating a special Veteran's Day breakfast.
Aric Voss - Cool! The Sergeant grabs a microphone and tries to get everyone attention which he accomplish.
Sergeant Hernandez - First of all I hope everybody is enjoying their Veteran's Day breakfast. Secondly, we have a special guest this morning and actually he have decided to hang out with us for the entire day. Ladies and gentlemen in uniform from USS Carl Vinson....please welcome the IWF New Blood Champion and star of The Veteran, which you all will get to see in a couple of hours......without further due Aric Voss!Voss receive a unique and loud welcome from the one hundred men and women in the cafeteria of the USS Carl Vinson as he stands in front a rather large banner advertising his straight to DVD action movie The Veteran.
Aric Voss - Wow! Uh......thanks for the warm welcome. That has to be the best welcome I have ever received and I'm not just saying this because I'm standing in front you guys, but that was really a bad ass military welcome. Thanks for that!Once again the men and women in the uniform cheer in their unique way.
Aric Voss - Any wrestling fans in the house?About one-third raise their hands in the air.
Aric Voss - That's okay! About thirty hands of about a hundred are pretty cool I guess. Especially when it's you guys hands in the air.Everyone laughs as Aric shakes his head.
Aric Voss - What about uh.....The Veteran!A number of hands, more than the thirty that was up in the air for wrestling was in the air this time around. Aric smiles as he nods.
Aric Voss - Wow! That's cool! I'm sure you're going to enjoy this badass movie The Veteran. .....Two weeks ago, I became the brand new New Blood Champion and although it's not the World Heavyweight Championship that I believe one day I will be the owner of. Winning this title means a whole lot to me, especially from what I had to do and go through to become the champion. You see over the past year I got the opportunity to wear the uniform of a modern day United States Soldier known as Corporal Jason Lilley. Sure.....he's just a made up character and I am just a Hollywood actor portraying a U.S. soldier in what was the best experience in my life. I just want to make it perfectly clear the character of Corporal Jason Lilley will never come close to taking one single step in the boots that you guys all wear on the front lines. You all are the real heroes.Aric smiles as he received a huge round of applause by the one hundred men and women in the cafeteria.
Aric Voss - The Veteran give me the opportunity of a life time to wear the uniform the soldiers of this great nation wear, brought out a more patriotic side of me and although, being the New Blood Champion means a lot to me, wearing that uniform meant a hell of a lot more to me.Once again he gets a nice applause as he raises his New Blood Championship in the air.
Aric Voss - Honestly I cannot wait to hear what you guys have to say about The Veteran. Now with that said......let's eat!The New Blood Champion and star of the upcoming movie The Veteran, takes a seat next to a Private Williams and Private Johnson.
"In the IWF I portray this Hollywood Douche that only cares about himself and will step over and insult anybody to get what he wants. I'm the bad guy and the IWF fans are supposed to really dislike and despise me. I think I am doing a phenomenal job at that. At the same time I hang out with the troops, do some charity work and community service. I see that people respect me and understand that IWF is just a television show to entertain its viewers. There's heroes and then there is villains, I just play a bad guy really good. Sitting down with those guys was.......I don't even know how to explain the feeling. At first I had butterflies, but when I hang out with them, eat breakfast with them and have a real good conversation with them and it's all good. No butterflies, because these guys makes me feel right at home. Champion or not and I do intend to remain the New Blood Champion for a very long time, I promise to visit our men and women that serves in our Military more often. That's what a real champion is all about. Max Newman wanted me to elevate the status of the New Blood Championship well I'm taking the next step."Aric is seen chatting with Corporal Ryan, while others stand by and wait to have a chat with him and get an autograph.
Corporal Ryan - Always wanted to ask you this. Do you do your stunts in movies on your own?Aric Voss - Most of them I do, there is others I am just not crazy enough to try.Aric signs his autograph as Corporal Ryan steps aside for Private Charlie, who hands Aric a magazine featuring him on the front page as the star of The Veteran. The Voss looks at the magazine and then at Private Charlie and smiles as he signs it.
Aric Voss - That's a really good magazine.Private Charlie - I know!Voss laughs as he hands the magazine back to Private Charlie. Corporal Ryan takes a picture of Aric and Charlie standing next to each other. Private Charlie extends his arm Aric grabs his hand for a hand shake. This is when Private Garcia walks up to Aric.
Aric Voss - Private Garcia!Private Garcia - My name is Alicia Garcia and um.....I really hope you kick ass this Monday.Aric Voss - I hope so too!Aric notices that Private Garcia did not have anything to sign. So he grabs one of the many The Veteran t-shits he brought to the base to share out among the men and women.
Private Garcia - Thank you!Aric Voss - Glad it put a smile on your face.Garcia smiles and shakes his hand.
Private Garcia - Thanks again for the shirt!Aric Voss signed a number of autographs after the Veteran's Day breakfast and hanged out with the troops on the USS Carl Vinson in San Diego, California. During the day he looked at the premiere of The Veteran, a movie set to be release directly to DVD in a couple of weeks. Aric Voss also took time out train with a few of the guys in uniform. Later that day President Barack Obama and his wife the First Lady of the United States visited the USS Carl Vinson, like many of the men and women in uniform Aric Voss had the opportunity to shake hands with the president of the United States. The Military personnel was then entertained by North Carolina Tar Heels and Michigan State Spartans play a game of basketball in the unique outdoor arena on the USS Carl Vinson in San Diego.
