UFC 146 Cody Taylor Vs Alistair Overeem

The scene opened in Cody Taylor's locker room, he was going through his gameplan for tonight he knew it was make or break for him, he lost to Overeem his reputation in the MMA world was destroyed plus he would lose all momentum going into the match against Robbie Hart the next night.

Cody bowed his head slightly thinking about what his trainers were telling him when the door knocking echoed around his locker room..

Cody raised his eyebrow slightly as he told everyone he wanted to be left alone, he pointed towards the door.

CODY TAYLOR
"Tell who ever it is I want to be left alone."

Someone from Team Blackout walked over to the door and opened it. Suddenly the flash of cameras and lights entered the room. Ronda Rousey slowly walked in. Cody smiled at her slightly, Ronda was a good friend of his he helped her early on in her MMA training so he didn't have a problem with letting her into the locker room.

Cody nodded at his trainers letting them know it was cool for her to be here, they slowly disappeared as Ronda sat down beside Cody.

"well well well, Cody Taylor back in MMA never thought I would see the day when the prince made his comeback."

Cody chuckled slightly as she mentoned comeback.

"Don't call it a comeback, I never left... just took a break."

Ronda smiled slightly at him, she guessed he was writing he never actually did officially leave the sport of MMA.

"You better bring it tonight, Reem is pissed off after the stuff you have been saying about him all week... Plus you got that wrestling match tomorrow night, Don't want to get hurt before that do you?"

Cody laughed out loud, he didn't care if Reem was butthurt about the things he said and he didn't care about tomorrow nights match against Bitch Boy Hart.. Wrestling wasn't his home anymore, the UFC was.

"I always Bring it Ronda... Fuck wrestling, It's just more money in my back account though, I'm back to win my belt back.."

Ronda nodded slightly, she knew he always brought it that was what made him the best pound for pound heavyweight in the world, No one could take that from him.

Ronda stood up before hugging Cody and kissing him slightly on the cheek, he didn't need good luck he just needed to hear that bell so he could Knock Reem the fuck out.

The whole arena lit up. It was time for the Co-main event. the whole showed had been explosive so far but This one was sure to be the show stealer.

Alistair Overeem walks into the scene, the fans begin to cheer loudley.
Hes wearing a black fitted pointed to the side. A long Affliction t-shirt
that is sponsered by "Bad Boy", and MMA Shorts that contain the
sponsers "Cage Fighter, Tapout, Bad Boy, O.T.M" and "Sprawl".

"OVEREEM, is set to fight the former UFC Heavyweight champion here tonight, this is going to be an insane fight tonight."

"Yes it is, Cody Taylor is back in the UFC and he is already in Overeem's head."

"I wouldn't say he was in his head."

Alistair Overeem had an angry expression on his face and it looked like
he was ready for a fight. He looked in great shape. he was ready to prove he was the new king of the heavyweights by putting Cody to sleep tonight.

"Alistair looks ready for a fight here tonight, I think He might just pull off the upset against the heavily favourited Cody Taylor."

Alistair ignored the fans as he made his way down to the octagon, he just wanted to get in and get this over with as he made his way into the octagon he walked towards the referee so they could check to make sure he didn't have anything on him.

As this was going on "Thriller / Heads Will Roll" began playing through out the arena as smoke filled the small entrance way.

Cody came out with a Zombie mask on with his Team Blackout Long sleeved Red Tshirt ripped apart for effect as the crowd went wild for the former UFC heavyweight Champion, with the Dancers doing the thriller behind him Cody soon joined in.

Cody began walking towards the Octagon zombie style with his hands out in front of him and his neck crocked to the side, the crowd were loving it but Overeem was getting offended by Cody's actions.

The cameras cut to where the ring girls are sitting, they where dancing along with the music it seemed everyone except Overeem was loving Cody's entrance.

As Cody got near the Octagon he began doing the thriller dance along with the dancers, it was clear he was having fun tonight even if this would be the biggest fight of his MMA Career.

Whilst the camera focused on the announcers Mike Goldberg was up dancing along with everyone else as the atmosphere inside the arena was electric, Joe Slowly raised his eyebrow.

Cody climbed up the steps into the Octagon as he walked over to Overeem as he muttered the words "Brains" before getting in Overeem as the referee pulls them both apart. both men walked walk back over to their corners getting their gear off as Cody took the mask off the crowd started to settle down as Bruce Buffer entered the octagon as the fans cheered loudly.

The lights went down and then back up, and some pyro went off as
the fans cheered louder.

The camera went towards Cody Taylor, who was still staring right into
Overeem's eyes, with a huge smirk on his face.

Now Taylor started to pound his gloves with a huge smirk on his face as he stared accross the octagon.

A huges roar from the fans could be heard echoing around the arena.

The camera showed Overeem, the fans instantly boo'd him because Cody was still the fan favourite. He had a blank expression on his face, as he looked right at Cody.

Overeem kept his focuse a hundred percent on the Cocky and over confident Cody Taylor.

John McCarthy looked at both men as Bruce exited the octagon, he pointed at both men

Both fighters immidietly took the center of the octagon, Cody Taylor
in a boxing stance, and Overeem in a striking stance of
his own.

Both men circle around each other looking for an opening, Overeem came charging at Cody trying to hit some big right hands to put the Cocky former Champion away early, But Cody dodge every punch and tagged Overeem with a side kick to the midsection, Reem didn't check it.

Cody slowly backed off wantin Overeem to come at him, Reem began predictable and came at Taylor to landed a good leg kick, Cody just ignored it. Overeem again, tagged Cody Taylor in the leg but it was much weaker than the previous, Cody ignores it once again, trying to look for an opening as he steps forward.

"Thats Twice Overeem has Tagged Cody, and Twice he has just ignored it."

"The Prince is waiting to unleash those big hands of his."

Overeem Pushes forward again and tries to look for a few hooks to land
but they are weak and Cody Taylor easily dodges out of the way
and clips Overeem hard on the jaw with a beautiful counter straight
punch to the jaw then follows up with a huge kick to the ribs rocking the big man Overeem backwards.

Overeem falls backward onto the Cage as Cody comes charging at him with a big high knee onto the chin smashing Overeem off of the cage as the crowd went nuts, Cody pulled Overeem's head down and began hitting big knees into his face, But Reem had his hands now covering his face so they weren't landing fully onto his face.

"Overeem has to find away out of this, he needs to defend him self and wait for Cody to run out of energy."

Cody continued to try hit the knees but Alistair managed to push him away, Cody came straight back at Overeem with punchs put Reem managed to block them all, Overeem was becoming wild and unpredictable as he came charging at Cody trying to go for a takedown but Cody managed to defend it flinging Overeem off of him.

Cody backed off slightly trying to get away from Overeem who knew he had to pull out a huge Comeback to win the round, Overeem came charging at him once again flinging a huge side kick to the rib area of Cody, Cody felt the affect as he fell sidewards but managed to stay on his feet

he tried to get his defence up but it was too late as Reem came at him with kick and Punch combo's knocking the former Champion against the Cage, Reem Came at him as Cody clinched with him trying to regain compuser as Overeem gave him weak punches to the side of the head.

"Cody needs to go for that takedown, He needs to take this fight to the ground."

Overeem reversed the clinch and flipped Cody over the top of him and down to the canvas punching him just once to bust the Youngster Open, Cody Managed to get his defence up but Reem kept trying to fling punches.

Cody caught Reem in a armbar hold but Overeem used his power to lift Cody up off of the ground and slam him back down onto the canvas as the crowd went nuts with the sound of the buzzer for the end of the first round was heard.

Overeem goes back to his corner as they all congratulate him cheering
and smiling. Cody slowly got up walking over to his own corner.

He got that round, but thats the last he is going to get, If your going to fight like that for the rest of this fight, Ill just fling the towel in now... because I'm not having you get beat around when you have Hart Less than Twenty Four Hours from now.... I need you to go out there and show these people why you are the kind of the heavyweights."

Reem and Taylor walked over to the center of the octagon as the bell rang.
Overeem started to follow his new game plan. He rushed at Cody, Cody
didn't expect it as he was still recovering from the last round. Reem charged at him and hit him with a knee to the stomach.

Taylor quickly stops Reem's attack, grabs him and
gets him into the muay thai clinch, Cody trys to land
a few quick knees to the face but Reem blocks it off.

Reem easily outworked him in the clinch, getting double underhooks. Taylor tried to fight it off but Reem had it locked in tight. Reem tried to deliver a
suplex to Taylor but as he lifted him up, Taylor broke free and bounced back onto his feet.

"Cody just managed to escape this one."

Cody came pushing forward and hit a huge flying highknee landing directly, as Reems knees buckled he went crashing into the fence, Cody knew he was hurt so he went charging at him with another high knee but Overeem caught him and slammed him hard into the canvas.

Cody slowly got back to his feet as Overeem came charging at him with a takedown, Cody fell back onto the canvas as Reem tried to go for a submission of his own but Cody managed to wriggle free, Reem flung punches into the side of Cody trying to weaken the former champion.

"The Prince is in trouble right here, he needs to try get a submission locked in here."

Cody pulled Reem down onto him before wrapping his legs around the demolishion man and transition to be on top of Reem the Prince begins raining down punches as Reem manages to block most of them, Cody then transitioned into an armbar once again, but reem managed to roll onto his feet and pull the former Champ up and slammed him into the ground, it wasn't the biggest slam but it was just enough to cause Cody to lose his grip on the arm.

Cody rolled over and got back to his feet as Reem flung a heavy powered punch Cody ducked under and hit a high knee into the rib cage of Overeem, The crowd were loving this match as it seemed to be close.

Reem managed to grab Taylors leg on the way down, causing Taylor to trip. Reem fell o ntop of the former Champion he gets in full mount.

Overeem in full mount, he has 12 seconds left to make something
happen here.

Reem begins to pound on Taylor skull,Taylor tries to block his face but most of the punches go through. Reem puts all his power left into the punches and even adds some elbows. at this point its hard to tell if Taylor bleeding or if its Reem's blood.

These punches from Overeem are not that hard, but they are doing damage to Cody Taylor.

Both men are badly hurt right now, but Overeem has got the upper hand... Cody is going to have to find to defend until the end of the round

The Referee comes close to see if Cody is out. The bell rings and Overeem gets up still buckled, Taylor gets up and wipes Overeem's blood off of
his face. He notices his nose is bleeding. Cody smirked slightly and pointed at Reem mouthing the words "try that again."

can see the cockiness of Cody Taylor.

Well Cody is one of these fighters, that you need to Knock out or he will comeback and cost you big time.

Overeem gets back to his corner and his corner immidietly works on Overeem's cut and gets him some water. Cody sees Team Blackout waiting for him in the blue corner.

Breathe Alistair. Breathe. You need to take it this easy, Stop rushing him because this fight is getting to close, you need to hit combos then back off letting him come at you.

Overeem nods, he looks very tired as the cutman works on the huge gash
he has on his forehead. The doctor comes in and looks at the cut. Its a huge
cut, but hes alright to continue.

Cody this is too close to call right now, He knows how dangerous you are on the ground, he is going to want to go to stand up and trade with you... you need to get him on the ground and make him tap out, the world is watching and wanting you to fail Cody.. Don't give them what they want, Make him tap... Go for that takedown as soon as possible.



The bell rings and Taylor walks over to Overeem attempting to trash talk him before the start fighting again with him, Cody smirked slightly before he grabs Overeems wrist, drops under, and picks Alistair Overeem up into the air wrapping his hands around Overeems hips and legs.

Cody Taylor jumps up and slams The Huge Overeem, hard down onto the mat. You can hear the impact and see the expression on Reems face that he landed heavy.

Taylor takes his time, breathing in and out. Reem tries to get Taylor off of him
but Taylor sees everything Overeem is doing. Taylor passes Overeems guard and ends up in side control. He begins to make Overeem work, hitting his ribs with knees a couple of times, then taking a deep breathe, then giving Reem some shots to the face.

Overeem puts his knees out to prevent Cody from getting to full mount, Taylor begins to Trash talk Overeem, and Reem responds back with some Trash talk of his own.

Overeem begins to throw shots from the bottom, hitting Cody Taylor with knees but they're not effective.

Those punches and knees aren't doing anything for him, he needs
to find a way back up to his feet.

Cody Taylor then moves to north south, but Overeem was
waiting for Taylor to pass. Overeem quickly springs onto one knee, Cody gets to his knee and looks over to his corner looking for advice but as he looked at the corner Overeem charges towards him and gets The Former Champion back.

Overeem tries to get the underhooks on Taylor with his legs, but The Prince crouches. Overeem tries to look for a rear naked choke but now Cody Taylor gets up to his feet, with Overeem still ontop of him, carrying all of Alistair Overeem's weight. Overeem tries to hit taylor on the side of the head and add more weight, to bring Cody down but The former Heavyweight Champion stood up strong.

Cody then quickly Charges backwards sending Overeem crashing into the fence forcing him to lose his grib slightly, He then spins around and drops to the canvas knocking Overeem Spine first to the mat the force managed to break the hold as Cody slowly rolled off of Reem.

Smart Move By The Former Heavyweight Champion, Cody Taylor.

Both men slowly get back to their feet, Cody slightly beat Reem back first and then Cody Taylor begins to throw wildly. Missing shots. He was desperate to put this fight away, he didn't want to Lose, he couldn't lose.

The Big Man Overeem grabs Cody's leg to try and go for a takedown. with no strength behind it, Overeem is still badly hurt and now he is running out of energy Time is running out for Overeem to make this count.

Cody hops on one leg and lands a knee to Overeem's face with his other leg with what the fans thought would be his last burst of energy. both fighter crash down to the floor.

BOTH ARE DOWN!!! BOTH ARE DOWN!!! this can't be going on for much longer.... I swear this has to be over with soon, There is no way either can go for much longer.

Both men Lay there for a moment and with a second wind Cody manages to Spring up to his feet easily, the spectators were in disbelieve as Reem remained down on the canvas

Cody slowly backs off from Overeem trying to recover to continue. The Referee brings Overeem back up, and as soon as he does, Cody fakes
a takedown and connects with a spinning elbow. Taylor buckles. He falls
down yet again.

Taylor then knees him in the stomach and ribs, up against
the fence. Overeem pushes Taylor away as he was getting desperate to survive, but Taylor gets back onto the attack. Taylor jumps up and goes for a flying knee, but Overeem slowly dashes to the side avoiding the knee from the Former Heavyweight Champion.

Overeem again tries for a double leg, but hes has no energy left to follow through, Taylor just shoves him off letting a small smirk grow across his face as he could tell he had won if he kept this up. Overeem gets back to his feet and Taylor begins to show why he is the crowned king of the heavyweights, picking his shots with body punches and punches to the face.

"Cody came here to go to war and Alistair wasn't expecting him to bring it like this, Alistair was thinking just like everyone else Taylor has been gone for over a year so he has lost that magic he once had, but he has proved he still got it."

Overeem buckles yet again. Dropping to his knee but he somehow managed to get back up to his feet and on pure instinct charged at Cody. But the Former Champion was two steps a head of him when he jumped wrapping his legs around the waist of Reem pulling him down on top of him and locked in the Kumrui Lock.

Cody cranked back Overeem's arm as he screamed out in pain before finally giving up and tapping against Cody's Arm as John McCarthy called for the bell before forcing Cody to Break the hold, The former UFC Heavyweight Champion quickly got up to his feet before running and jumping up on the fence then sitting on top of it the crowd went wild for Cody as he put on a great show tonight.

All of Team Blackout MMA Camp quickly mobbed the Ring as Cody got down from the Fence The referee brings both men to the center of the ring as their camps surrounded them.

Ladies and Gentlemen, your winner viaaa Submission. "THEE PRINCEEEE"... "COOOOODYYYY TAYYYYLLOOORR"

The referee raises Codys hand. Cody slowly turned his head to look at Overeem standing across from him, he slowly stuck his middle fingers up then grabbed his crotch disrespecting Overeem after their hard fought fight.

Joe Rogan entered the Cage and walked over towards Cody with a huge smile on his face as the crowd went wild waiting for Cody to talk about the fight.

"Cody what an Impressive fight for you tonight... and an even more Impressive Victory Via Submission what do you have to say about the fight?"

Joe moved the microphone towards Cody who had a giant smirk on his face, he knew he was going to win but he thought it would be via knockout not submission.

"It was an easy return... An Easy win and an Easy Submission, the man was not in my league."

In the background Overeem was talking smack about Cody, Team Blackout had over heard and got into a arguement with Overeem's Camp. Cody raised his eyebrow slightly looking at Overeem with a pissed off look on his face.

"What the fuck did you just say?"

Cody seen someone pushing his little brother Ryan and flipped out going straight after Overeem with a takedown as both Camps began fighting, Security came rushing into the ring trying to pull them apart but by this point Cody was hammering down on Overeem with punches as his Brother Ryan was kicking into him.

"All hell has broken loose down here inside the Octagon, someone get the Taylor Brothers off of Overeem."

Team Blackout stopped fighting and pulled the Taylor brothers away from Overeem, the crowd were chanting "let them fight" as Cody was dragged out of the Cage by his team.

Cody was making his way through the back out of the arena as MMA reporter ariel helwani comes to try get a few words with Cody on his big victory over Overeem and his match tomorrow night over Robbie Hart.

Cody groaned slightly before turning to look at Ariel, he didn't really want to say anything he had done his talking in the octagon he had nothing left to say.

"Well first off an Impressive win tonight, How did it feel to get your hand raised after a year of being away from the Octagon and has this gave you momentum heading into tomorrow nights match with Robbie Hart at IWF Pay Per View Isolation?"

Cody smirked slightly as he was asked the question, he had allot to say but a short time to say it.

"It felt great to come back tonight and prove I'm still the king of this division and of course It has gave me some huge motivation and Momentum for tomorrow night when i got against Robbie Hart for That unified high Impact championship... going to be a good weekend for me, Team Blackout and Team Swag."

"So you a pretty confident going against Robbie Hart Tomorrow Night... Rumours have been going around that this will be your last ever match in professional wrestling because you are back in UFC Full time."

"if you came back to the UFC who would you fight next... Oh and if you stay in wrestling who is next on your list?"

"Ummm Cain Velasquez would certainly be the next victim as for the wrestling world... I think I would like one more match with my boy Sharky, cause yall know that would be a damn war for that title."

"well Cody Thank you for your time and good luck in whatever is next for the prince."

Ariel extended his hand for Cody to shake, Cody smirked slightly before shaking his hand normally he didn't bother being nice but Ariel was a ok kind of dude.

Cody slowly walked away as he was on his way to the after party with Adree and Rochelle.
