IWF 2.0 The NEW Rules Empty
PostSubject: IWF 2.0 The NEW Rules   IWF 2.0 The NEW Rules I_icon_minitimeMon Jul 01, 2013 5:44 am

These are the rules and guidelines of IWF.  Read them, learn them, live by them.

IWF Fed Mission Statement - Overview

IWF was founded in January of 2011 by Corey Casey, Chuck Matthews and Brandon Macdonald. Throughout the years IWF has enjoyed it’s small portion of the internet world putting out consistent shows, storylines and talented champions on a regular basis.

In May of 2013 the federation was handed over to Alex Dillinger aka Axle Vengeance. With a new vision of expansion and an era that would provide more interaction than ever imagined Alex has set out to make IWF an upper-echelon federation.

Here in IWF we pride ourselves on maintaining realism as well as maintaining a level of quality that is bar none. That doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy having a good time and joking around. It also doesn’t mean that we don’t have a place for all levels of roleplayers. If you prefer a more laid back environment we have a development/indy style show as well as our more mainstream big leagues WWE style programing.

IWF General Information

IWF has a main show as well as a developmental show. On the main show we currently have three championships (looking to expand on that when the roster expands) available for contention. The developmental show has one main championship (also subject to change as well).

Three strike rule - There is a three strike rule in IWF. Basically it’s really simple, you break a serious rule you get a strike...and another...and finally you’re OUT. We spend a lot of time making this federation a place for you to come to, have fun and get your e-fed fix. We aren’t interested in wasting our time on anyone that doesn’t want to be here. You will be informed when you’ve received a strike. We keep track, we don’t forget.

The Admin team’s decisions are always FINAL.

There is a limit to having up to 3 active wrestlers in IWF. The catch is that you have to have them split up. You can have two on the main show and one in development or two in development and one on the main show.

New Members - all new members are subject to having a three match competition rule before having any graphics done for them be it signatures or having their picture placed into the roster page. This is to ensure that we aren’t wasting our time on people that don’t want to be here.

As a way of sorting out who is really in it for the long haul all new members will be placed in the IWF Development show. If you prove that you can show for a total of two matches you'll be moved up to the main show if you so choose to.

IWF Roleplaying Rules

The universal IWF deadline time is midnight pacific standard time. Make sure you remember that.

Battlegrounds has a SINGLE RP limit. Meaning that only one RP will count, you can post as many as you like but your best work will only be counted. For Pay-Per-Views we have a TWO RP limit. However just because you write two mediocre RPs doesn’t mean it will beat one SUPERB RP either.

On the day of the deadline you can only post ONE RP. This is to ensure we won't have to deal with sandbagging. As long as you get an RP up before midnight on the day before deadline you can post another RP on deadline day, otherwise just the one.

Do not use people in your RP's without their permission. This is like, the universal RP rule of the universe. Just don't do it. Also do not use IWF Staff Members if they are characters without asking. It takes a second to send a PM, and one of the things we take great pride in is that you can usually catch an admin in the chatbox most times.  Do not attack or abuse non-character staff in your roleplays without consulting the admins first.  Do you really need to beat up and announcer to get your point across?

This is a roleplaying federation! Roleplaying is important to your success, as well as your own creativity. You do not get to post two inferior roleplays and expect to beat one superior one. The judging of RPs will be handled by the IWF management, and as such is a FINAL decision. Quality over quantity. We don't care what your word count is. It doesn't matter. Some guys here write 5000-8000 word stuff, some are in the 500-1000 area. Our goal is for everyone to have someone close to their level, and we hope as time goes on, you'll only improve. We all had to start somewhere, and most of us, it was in that really low level, short & sweet RP area. Those same people are the top names you see in IWF today.

There is a minimum word count here in IWF. The minimum word count is 500 words. I’ve seen a few times where people just post in order to win the match last second. We’re killing that tactic for the betterment of the federation. Sorry we require effort and effort gets you rewarded. Corey Casey, Brandon Macdonald and Chuck Matthews always said “if you try you will succeed” the key word being TRY. We’re keeping with that thought process.

Do not refer to someone’s off camera portions of their roleplays. Those scenes are labeled specifically off camera for a reason, they are OFF CAMERA...it’s quite simple, the logic is all right in front of you...yet some people still don’t understand that so I feel it’s needed to put this in here as well.

The most effective way in IWF to get over is simply to play your character. You need to show us that your character just isn’t a dime a dozen generic wrestler. Add depth to your character. Here in IWF we don’t require that you implement character development portions into your RP but it’ll only improve your chances of being successful here. Some people have different opinions on what character development is. I’ve seen people have scenes where they’re always in character and running their gimmick doing things with said gimmick and then shoot on their opponent(s). I’ve also seen people do off-camera scenes telling the story of their wrestler outside of the ring and then shooting and their opponent(s). For me I’ve always done a little of both. It’s all a choice. Here we can only give you the tools to succeed it’s up to you to utilize them.

No showing.  I understand that real life situations occur and things do happen. I do however believe that the staff here works hard, I know I work hard, and as well as the roster that RP regularly…they work hard too. So in order to avoid storylines being ruined or people getting pushed to the moon only to vanish this rule has to come into effect. This falls under the three strikes and you’re out. After the first no show if I don’t hear from you we’ll automatically place you on LOA until we hear otherwise. If you come back and no show once again we place you under alumni, meaning you no longer belong to the IWF roster period. That means if you ever decide to come back you have to talk to me about it. More than likely you will get a final chance and that’s it after that. Three strikes, the basis of punishment in IWF.

Editing Roleplays. You may edit your RP up until deadline. However the only time you are allowed to edit your RP after deadline is to CODE it. There will be no adding additional content such as extra scenes and additional shoot portions. If caught breaking this rule it goes against the three strike rule.

For singles matches on Battlegrounds the BEST single RP wins. For tag matches on Battlegrounds, it’s two roleplays per team. These can be split up in any number of ways, amongst the participants in the match. Two individual roleplays, one individual, one joint, two joints, and so on. We look into how well you play off one another and actually go into the match as a team when deciding the winner.

Roleplays created only to develop a character without any relation to a specific match must be posted in the Character Development forum. Failure to do so will result towards a strike.

Roleplaying will be judged with creativity, match relevance, character portrayal and other specific subjects pertaining to the match that is subject to change. If anyone ever has any questions about how a match was judged we are more than happy to share with you the discussions had about who scored what.

The Admin Team allows you to run storylined endings to matches if agreed upon by both parties however in rare instances we may change things, you will always be informed why changes were made and what changes were made. I do however encourage working with people and sacrificing wins or losses in order to further storylines. It’s not always the best thing to be completely unbeatable like Goldberg. Look at the egotistical spitter now.

IWF Character Creation

IWF is a created wrestler only fed. This means your character has to be 100% original. No current wrestlers or play on word names that resemble existing wrestlers. Original characters only. Also please try and keep your wrestlers realistic as possible. Try to limit yourself to under 7’5” and under 550 pounds. Have size appropriate finishers. A 200lb man is probably not going to utilize a triple powerbomb. We also do not allow ANY anime picbases. Only real people. Before signing up check to make sure that the picbase you’ve chosen isn’t already taken.

There is a limit to 2 finishers per wrestler and 3 signature moves per wrestler.

The IWF Universe Rule. There are no promotions such as WWE, TNA, ROH, CHIKARA, PWG, DRAGONS GATE ETC. Mention of other e-feds is ok. Do not make mention of any professional wrestlers with taken picbases here. If someone has a picbase, the real person is no longer relevant to our universe.

We’re all wrestling fans, that’s why we’re here. The IWF Universe Rule is kind of a subjective thing that not even all the admins agree on. Breaking it will be taken into account for voting. Some look at it more harshly than others. Abusing it will lead to disciplinary action. Even the exceptions provided should be used sparingly.

If you need assistance in creating a character or need tips on how to develop a character such as backstories etcetera feel free to ask any of the Admins for help. I know for a fact that I myself am more than willing to work with people and help repackage them as well as build upon an existing character. Don't be afraid to ask for help!

IWF Out of Character Rules

We all like to joke around in the chat box. It’s part of the camaraderie. However certain subjects aren't allowed: RAPE AND RACISM aren’t allowed. Also, if someone asks you to stop harassing them, it should stop immediately. There’s usually an admin there to handle the situation. If there isn’t send a PM and one of us will deal with it as soon as we can. Anyone harassing other members in the chat box will be banned for a period of time at the Admin’s discretion. If a ban exceeds 24 hours, the member will be contacted and told when they will be unbanned. The PM should also be sent to the other admins so they can lift the ban if the banning admin isn’t available to do it himself.

If you have any personal issues with someone or any kind of dramatic bullshit please leave it out of the chatbox. People go there to enjoy discussions with their peers, don’t go in there like some looming fucking black cloud...ready to rain on everyone’s parade. Take the drama to an Admin via PM or IM. It doesn’t matter if you’re not in the wrong, if you’re bitching about it and handling it wrong you too will be banned from the chatbox or given a strike if an OOC topic is created.

The chat box is Out Of Character ONLY. Anything you say in the chat box comes from you. Not from your character. Pretty much the only people who pull that "I'm always in character" bullshit just want an excuse to be a douche in the chat box. If you want to spout off in character, get a Twitter. Most of us have them. If someone doesn't have Twitter, then it's a safe bet that they want to be left alone unless it's a roleplay. Respect that. "I was talking in character" will NEVER be an acceptable excuse for douchebaggery or cuntery in the chat box.

Do not post pornographic images or videos on the boards. We cannot guarantee that everyone who comes into this site is over 18.

Let us know at least a week in advance if you need time off. This gives us sufficient time to plan around your absence. Once the card gets up, if you're on it, it becomes much harder to take you out. Emergencies do happen and if they do, we'll work with you. But if at all possible, please give us a heads up if you know you won't be around the next week.

Do not advertise other feds. Yes, we once upon a time, two years ago, got in trouble for doing this ( I only mention this because some rules lawyer can find the right posts on RK and bring it up). We're allowed to learn from our mistakes. Advertising in the chatbox, on the boards, or in your sig is a one way ticket to your future endeavors. PM's advertising are also verboten, and any members who receive a PM solicitation are encouraged to report them to the admins right away. Also do not go to other feds to steal members away for the sake of IWF. That is also a banish worthy offense.

Do not access IWF through a proxy. I know that proxies are supposed to be good for security, but IWF gathers no personal data from you or your computer. Disable any proxies before you come to our boards. Anyone who uses a proxy to access IWF will be contacted via PM and asked to disable their proxies and connect with a real IP. If they refuse, their account and any posts they made will be deleted. This is for security purposes detrimental to the federation.

Do not bitch about wins/losses or voting publicly. If you have a problem with a result, we welcome you to privately message the administrators and we will try to address any concerns you have. But bitching in the chatbox, starting threads, or trying to tell people how badly you got fucked over or whatever...you’ll get a 24 hour vacation from the chatbox and a strike. If happens a second time you’ll be removed from the federation no questions asked. Also, the results of matches will not be changed.  If you ever come to us with a "change the results of my match or I quit", we're going to shorten it to "I quit".

Don't be a cunt.  There, there's "officially" a rule against it.  For anything we haven't thought of that someone might do.

IWF: Underground Development Rules

The basic IWF Roleplay rules apply here with the exception of there being a word count limit for Development Show RPs. The word count limit will be 5000 words. All other roleplaying rules apply the same.

Just as to not take away from the main show the Development Show’s results will be summarized except for the main event. If we gain access to more match writers we will reconsider this at a later time.

A reminder when creating your entrances for the Development show (IWF: Underground) make sure to not make them include pyrotechnics or anything extremely flashy. This isn't a large production show. Think ROH meets NXT with the pushing the envelopes of ECW.

When I look at the development show I look at it in two different ways. I see it as an opportunity for people that might be going overlooked to hone their craft. I also see it as a place to build/hype up new characters, for example if you’ve always had a character you’ve really wanted to try out this would be the PERFECT place to do so. By all means I wouldn’t take being on the developmental show as a bad thing. Just a chance to prove yourself and add depth to your character. For example when you play a game and start out in the minors only to work your way up to the majors...I think that’s awesome.

IWF Miscellaneous Information

Feedback! After every show, there will be a thread for you guys to leave your thoughts, tell us what you liked, what you didn't like, etc. The guys who write the show are all extremely talented, but we're only human. Feedback helps us learn what works and what doesn’t. It lets us know if you like how we're writing your character in the shows. If you don't leave feedback, not only will we assume we're doing perfectly fine with the way your character speaks and fights, but we probably won't be too pleased with you for not giving any sort of input on our work.

We're very open to anything you guys have to say! If you want a segment in the show, PM it to one of us, and we'll see what we can do about incorporating it into the show. If you want a face/heel turn in the future, we can hint at it in the shows. If you're running a storyline with someone and we don't know about it, tell us so we can help you guys hype it up! This is your fed too, guys. We're all working together to make it awesome.

If you try, you will succeed. I can't stress that enough. A lot of guys come in, lose their first match, and leave. Don't! You lost, so what? It's bound to happen eventually. A lot of times, a loss leads to a storyline, and storylines lead to better RP's, which lead to wins. We try and pair people up with guys close to their skill level. But in every match (with rare exception) there's a winner and a loser. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Take it, and move on.

Check the egos at the door and you’ll have an awesome time here and in general. When I first started out RPing I was all about the championships and just being dominant, while that’s all fine and good...but I’ve learned that working with other people and developing awesome storylines is much more fun and exciting. Hell even times I find that “jobbing” out sometimes is necessary to further your character. Keep an open mind, be cool with people and you’ll have an awesome time here in IWF.

Now I’m wondering...why are you still reading this? Go fill out an application! Once you do and you’ve been approved, welcome to the family. If you’re already part of the federation than congrats on being part of the greatness that is IWF.
