| Subject: Masset Tue Feb 10, 2015 8:32 pm | |
| Full Name: Masset
Ring Name: Masset
Nickname: “Mr. Reality Check”
Birthdate: 12/5/76
Height: 6’4”
Weight: 285lbs
Hometown: Fargo, ND
Billed From: Fargo, ND
Pic Base: Test
Alignment: Face
Strengths: Originally starting off his career as a hardcore wrestler, he can withstand an above-average amount of punishment and prides himself on having almost never submitted in his career. He hates the idea of fighting dirty, even if his manager encourages it. He has veteran knowledge and knows how to exploit weaknesses and find holes in his opponent’s game.
Weaknesses: His carefree demeanor tends to be mistaken for apathy and a general disinterest in his opponent. He’s never overly intense, and his humble nature can conflict with the fire that is often required in this profession. He’s been in the game for a long time so his stamina is not what it once was. As a result, he tends to go for the home run more often than he should (with varying success), in order to finish the match quickly.
Wrestling Style: Due to his respectable height and weight, along with his impressive muscle build, he does a fair amount of power/strength moves. However, he has a bit of quickness and agility to him, and is not afraid to climb to the top rope, albeit for easier-to-perform moves such as a body splash or elbow drop.
Common Moves (10): Stalling suplex, running/jumping boot kick to the face, standing elbow, double-arm takedown, headlock, armbar, top rope elbow drop, top rope body splash, stalling body slam, dropkick
Signature Moves (3): 1- Superkick 2- Multiple fisherman suplexes 3- superplex
Primary Finishing Move: Massetology – a scoop slam-into-brainbuster (A.K.A. Al Snow’s “Snow Plow”)
Secondary Finishing Move: High-arching boston crab (AKA Lion Tamer / Walls of Jericho)
Manager: Snow White. Standing 3’6”, Snow has been by Masset’s side from nearly the beginning as a trainer and mentor to Masset. His father, Steve White, named him Snow based on his unusually white skin complexion. Snow White can be described as a “thug midget” for he wears a sleeveless leather jacket, dark shades, torn jeans, and leather gloves with half the finger holes cut off. Yes, his appearance is far from delightful, as is his attitude, sense of humor, personality, or presence.
Entrance Music: “Another Brick in the Wall” by Pink Floyd
Appearance: Shoulder-length dark blonde hair, muscular build, no visible tattoos or blemishes. Wrestles in silver spandex wrestling shorts with blue trim, black elbow pads, black knee pads, and black wrestling boots. Outside the ring, he wears jean shorts and his personal logo’d t-shirts, generally wearing blue-tinted sunglasses.
Ring Entrance: With little hesitation, pyro streams down toward the stage and explode as the chorus of “Another Brick in the Wall” starts blaring. This fires up the crowd, who start cheering as colored spotlights rapidly pan across the arena. As the pyro smoke clears, Masset appears with his arms open wide, embracing the excitement from the crowd. Trailing behind him is his manager and trainer, Snow White. They both walk down the ramp—Masset spiritedly interacting with the fans, and Snow actively ignoring them. Masset slides into the ring and approaches the far turnbuckle, jumping to the second rope to pose once more. He spreads out his arms to receive the adoration as the lights return to normal and the music dies down.
Biography: Masset debuted in 1998 as a fresh-faced 21-year-old. He had early success, but it wasn’t until 2003 that he really became a dominant force. He became one of the most decorated wrestlers of the time with 31 championship title reigns, including 11 world championships and three different title reigns of over 200 days.
He may have peaked in 2004 when he won the Match of the Year, Moment of the Year, Storyline of the Year, Rivalry of the Year, Wrestler of the Year, and MVP of the fed, being inducted into both the singles and tag team Hall of Fame.
Or he may have peaked in 2008 when he went on a winning streak spanning 431 days, culminating with a win/loss record of 42-0. Or maybe it was in 2012 when, during his retirement, he managed to go over two weeks living off of nothing but buffalo wings and wine coolers…though I’m fairly certain it’s not that.
