PostSubject: Top 10 IWF Wrestlers   Top 10 IWF Wrestlers I_icon_minitimeFri Feb 20, 2015 1:39 pm

*This list was created using a ranking system that took into account wins, losses, main events, championships, as well as using ratios to account for less or more time spent wrestling in IWF*

Honorable Mention

Top 10 IWF Wrestlers Tumblr_n8la3oEElk1tqkqswo7_250

Tim Patrick

Total IWF Record: 19-12-0
IWF Championships: 0
Other Championships: 1x High Impact Champion (13 days, 0 defenses)
1x Ascension Ladder Match Victory

Tim Patrick may not have been as conventionally successful as many of the wrestlers listed in the top ten, but we couldn’t leave him off this list. The man was a pay-per-view machine, wrestling only 3 less matches there than on free TV. But more importantly, you’d be hard-pressed to find a single person that cared more about IWF than Tim Patrick. Every match he was in, no matter how stacked the odds were against him, Tim jumped in headfirst and put up the fight of his life. If we could measure the amount of blood lost in IWF matches, Tim would win by a landslide. He was involved in pretty much all of the most hardcore matches that IWF offered. He represents everything that IWF was when it first began. Didn’t care about the money, didn’t care about personal success, bled for the company and the fans that he loved so much, and he never, ever backed down from a challenge. His overall success was not enough to vault him into the top ten, but Tim Patrick was every bit as important to IWF as many of the people listed below.

Tiffani Michaels

Total IWF Record: 21-14-0
IWF Championships: 0
Other Championships: 1x High Impact Champion (94 days, 1 defense)
2x Queen of Wrestling Champion (119 days, 2 defenses)

Probably the most surprising wrestler in the top ten, Tiffani Michaels may not have been around for as long as other wrestlers, but she certainly left her mark in a big way. A sign of that could be her 54% win/appearance mark, which is the highest in IWF history among those who qualify. But some of the things that Tiffani did could not be measured by percentages. A two-time Queen of Wrestling Champion, she was instrumental in helping to raise the bar for women’s wrestling in IWF at a time where it was sorely needed. Who could forget her years-long back and forth with Blyss Lockhart? Or her High Impact title reign, one of the longest in the title’s history. And if it weren’t for an untimely injury, she might have been able to add IWF Champion to her accomplishments. Tiffani’s IWF career may have ended unceremoniously, but she will always be remembered alongside the greats of the company.

Blyss Lockhart

Total IWF Record: 31-21-2
IWF Championships: 0
Other Championships: 1x High Impact Champion (42 days, 0 defenses)
1x IWF Phoenix Champion (126 days, 3 defenses)
1x Ascension Ladder Match Victory

Simply put, Blyss Lockhart was the hardest-working woman in all of IWF’s history. She came into the company with almost no experience, but she managed to work her way up from the very bottom to very nearly the top of the list. Her IWF career ends with 31 total wins, the third most among all wrestlers. Her Phoenix Championship reign was one of the best title reigns in all of IWF history, as every match involving it was a near instant-classic. Her lack of pay-per-view success is the only negative thing about Blyss, as she could only manage 6 wins in 15 pay-per-view matches. But in every single one of those losses, Blyss gave it her all, and she was back the very next week, ready to take on whatever challenge was next for her. For someone with so little experience to end up on the list, it is the sign of a truly remarkable career.

Molly Reid

Total IWF Record: 14-6-1
IWF Championships: 1 (8 days)
Other Championships: 1x Queen of Wrestling Champion (28 days, 0 defenses)
1x High Impact Champion (214 days, 2 defenses)

Molly Reid is another wrestler who falls under the “short but sweet” category of IWF wrestlers. While she had by far the least experience of all the wrestlers on this list, the amount of success she had in such a short time is near unparalleled. Her overall win percentage of 68% is the third-highest in history, and she holds the longest championship reign in the history of IWF. She is also the only female to ever win the IWF Championship. Although the reign lasted just over a week thanks to an injury, there’s no telling how long it could’ve lasted as she had been running through her competition prior to winning the title. She was never the most skilled wrestler in the company, but she could throw down with anyone. Whether you loved her or hated her, you never wanted to miss a Molly Reid match. If she had started a bit earlier, we might be talking about one of the top three IWF stars of all time. But she certainly deserves this top ten spot.

Parker Wayde

Total IWF Record: 29-20-3
IWF Championships: 1 (28 days, 0 defenses)
Other Championships: 1x High Impact Champion (29 days, 0 defenses)
1x Full Throttle Champion (13 days, 0 defenses)
2x Tag Team Champion (58 days, 1 defense)

Nobody in IWF history moved their way up the ranks as quickly as Parker Wayde did. He won a lot of matches, and lost his fair share too. But the man went from a nobody to IWF Champion in a matter of weeks. Parker was one of three Grand Slam Champions in IWF, and it took him a mere 210 days to reach that status. Only three wrestlers have won more matches than Parker did in his time in IWF, and they are all on this list. His lack of title defenses hurt his rankings a bit, but nobody can deny him those victories. He was thrust into main event matches quickly and often, and never failed to deliver when there. Arguably the fastest rising wrestler in all of IWF history cannot be denied his place on this list.

Steel Angel

Total IWF Record: 48-35-2
IWF Championships: 1 (28 days, 1 defense)
Other Championships: 1x High Impact Champion (64 days, 1 defense)
1x New Blood Champion (63 days, 4 defenses)
1x Tag Team Champion (15 days, 1 defense)

There is one name that comes to mind when the discussion turns to Steel Angel. Mr. Ironman. No wrestler even comes close to the amount of matches that Steel wrestled during his long stay in IWF. His 48 wins are the most ever, as are his 35 losses. He was also one of three Grand Slam Champions in IWF history. Nobody would ever claim that Steel was among the most skilled wrestlers in the ring, but nobody could deny his heart. It seemed that for a year and a half, Steel wrestled a match every single week. He fought anyone who was put across from him and never shied away from a fight. He never voiced a complaint about his workload, and if he lost a match, he’d bounce right back up and ask for another chance. When his journey from the bottom culminated in an IWF Championship victory, you couldn’t help but feel happy for him. His work ethic alone deserved that title. In today’s day and age, you’d be hard pressed to find another worker like Steel Angel was in his IWF prime.

Corey Casey

Total IWF Record: 22-12-0
IWF Championships: 2 (49 days, 0 defenses)
Other Championships: 1x Path to Valhalla Winner

Our first IWF founder checks in on the list at number five, a fairly significant difference between the previous five and the following five. Corey Casey helped shape this company into one of the greatest wrestling companies in history. But his in ring career will be remembered far more than his managerial one. Corey was the first-ever IWF Champion, and immediately set the bar high. No wrestler in history has ever appeared in more main events than Corey’s 28. That includes the main event of the first From the Ashes, where he became the first two-time IWF Champion, and was the co-winner of the first Path to Valhalla match. While he never defended his title, he broke a lot of new ground for IWF. He more than deserves his spot in the top five of IWF wrestlers. Without him, who knows if IWF would have ever reached the heights that it reached.

Stygian

Total IWF Record: 24-6-2
IWF Championships: 2 (70 days, 1 defense)
Other Championships: 1x High Impact Champion (42 days, 1 defense)

When you talk about someone who just wins, you can look no further than Stygian. This giant cleaned out IWF, rarely losing in all of his time in the company. He won an unbelievable 78% of his matches, and boasted an incredible 9-2 pay-per-view record, both of which are the best of all time. He had two reigns as IWF champion, although the first one will be remembered more for the way he unceremoniously quit after only 14 days. If he had stayed in IWF, who knows if he ever would have lost that title. He was that talented in the ring. Stygian represented a changing of the guard in IWF, as he was the first dominant champion who was not part of IWF at the start. He proved that other wrestlers could find success in IWF, and his dominance led to IWF beginning to really look hard elsewhere to bring in talent from around the world to compete with the best of the best.

Gordon Fury

Total IWF Record: 37-18-2
IWF Championships: 2 (121 days, 2 defenses)
Other Championships: 2x High Impact Champion (135 days, 3 defenses)

The greatest IWF wrestler of the so-called “new generation” is Gordon Fury, and there can be no doubt. He was another wrestler who had very little experience prior to joining the company late in 2012, as evidenced by tough losses in the early going. But Gordon moved his way up through the ranks, and became one of the best of all time. His 37 wins are the second-most of all time, and his 10-4-1 pay-per-view record is one of the best. His championship reigns are some of the best of all time. And who could forget his first  IWF Championship defense at From the Ashes? He had some of the most memorable matches in IWF history. It’s more impressive when you think that Gordon had so little experience prior to IWF. To go from where he was then to the place he is now, he more than deserves this top three ranking.

James Shark

Total IWF Record: 35-15-3
IWF Championships: 2 (126 days, 2 defenses)
Other Championships: 1x High Impact Champion (0 days, 0 defenses)
1x Full Throttle Champion (21 days, 0 defenses)
2x Tag Team Champion (137 days, 0 defenses)

The biggest mouth in IWF, James Shark talked the talk and walked the walk. Never one to shy away from verbal sparring with an opponent, James Shark ran through IWF like it was his own personal playground. Nobody spent more days as a champion than Shark did, winning a championship on six different occasions. He was the first-ever IWF Grand Slam Champion, and was a main event machine, appearing in one 20 different times throughout his career. Shark, like many of IWF’s past wrestlers, had his issues with the company and that saw him leave the company multiple times. But he always came back, and he was never any less dominant than he was before he left. If you were watching an IWF show at any time, you were more than likely going to see a James Shark victory. He was that good for so long. Shark added a breath of fresh trash-talking air to IWF from the very beginning, and he helped set the tone for the entire roster all the time.

Brandon Macdonald

Total IWF Record: 24-8-2
IWF Championships: 2 (140 days, 3 defenses)
Other Championships: 1x Battle for the Briefcase Tournament Winner
2x Path to Valhalla Winner

What needs to be said about the success of Brandon Macdonald? His 5 wins in IWF Championship matches are the most ever. His .740 win percentage was the second highest ever. He won Path to Valhalla twice, he won the Battle for the Briefcase Tournament, he had the longest undefeated streak in IWF history. But what might be the most impressive are his 11 pay-per-view main events. Nobody was the star of more pay-per-view events than Brandon was. He carried the company from the very beginning, and helped shape the company into what it became throughout it’s four-year run. He was arguably the most important wrestler in IWF history, and is more than deserving of the top spot on this list. From main eventing the very first IWF show, to main eventing the final one, his IWF career will end exactly where it began. Closing the show
