Answers of Identity

She looks up from the book she was reading as she heard the door to her abode slam open. She was sitting cross legged on a patch of grass, in her customary black and gold kimono, amid the sanctity of her zen garden. As the door slams shut she lets out a deep breath knowing that it could only be one person. With a faint sigh she closes her book and sets it aside to await what was come. No sooner than she had set the book on her lap then did the person in question walk into her sight. Upon seeing her the man opens his mouth to speak.

"WHAT IN THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?"

There was no greeting or preamble to introduce the point. It was what she had come to expect from her guest and she had long since learned how to counter that attitude.

"I saw an opportunity and grabbed it. What else was I to do Miles?"

Her guest, now identified as Miles, sighs in frustration. He was a man of nondescript ethnicity and was wearing a black business suit.

"You could have waited until after the match Lu."

Miles runs his hand through his close cropped brown hair for a moment then lowers his hand with a sigh. As he  brings his hand down his hand becomes outstretched for a moment in a manner that reveal a tattoo of an Oriental dragon inside and as part of a closed circle. On the dragon's neck was a three sectioned yin-yang. His arm comes to to rest at his side.

"I did what I felt needed to be done Miles. You KNEW a year ago when I started professional wrestling that this day was coming. I will make my statement with or without your help."

She glares up at Miles with an "I dare you to question me" look on her face. This causes Miles to shake his head slightly.

"Do you know that your stunt two weeks ago has caused Dad to call me to find out who you are? I have been able to stall him so far but I KNOW for a fact I am not the only person he asked. I can only hold him off for so long. I hope your costing him the Rising Phoenix Championship was worth it because you have started something that will only end when one of you is left broken in the ring."

"Do what you have to Miles. I did what I did and there is nothing to change that. So what if I got a bit impatient and jumped the gun? The end result is that I sent a message. If you aren't ready to continue this then get out of my face and let me do what I need to do."

There is a momentary silence as the both remember the night the first step of this plan had come into fruition.

Quote :
About ten minutes later a man and a women enter the casino's restaurant and stops for a minute. The reason for their stopping was the fact that they saw the man from earlier sitting in a corner booth wearing a suit and tie. Yet what was even more striking was that there were evidently half a dozen Chinese men and women sitting throughout the room. These men and women were seated in a manner that Thor could see was tactical as well as defensive. A closer look was enough to show Thor that each of the Chinese men and women were placed so as to keep the man in the booth in their sight. This only made the situation even more intriguing in that he still had no idea who the man was. They both watch as Nathaniel Grant who leads them to the be seated by the Maitre'd asks for their names Grant answers in a fluid and calm manner.

"My name is Nathaniel Grant and this is Paige Daimond. I am here to meet someone who goes by the initials MY."

The Maitre'd looks down and then back up with a frown before looking at Mr. Grant having seen a note in the scheduling book.

"If you will come with me I will show you to the rest of your party."

With that the Maitre'd leads the way directly towards the table where the mysterious man was seated. Upon approaching the man stand up and nods to the Maitre'd signalling he could go.

"A pleasure to meet you Mr. Grant and you as well Mrs. Daimond. I know you have some questions but please be seated and I will endeavor to do my best to explain. I also hope that you will forgive me the subterfuge from earlier in the evening. I had to meet you unofficially in a manner that would tell me more about who you really are as a person."

The man sits back and is joined by Thor and Paige as they look at him up close. A thoughtful expression was on Paige's lips as she got a closer look at the man. She wondered if Thor had noticed what she had or not but until he said something she would just let him control the direction of this meeting.

"I have yet to learn what this is all about so I have little understanding of the situation. The fact that you are obviously someone of great importance is evident in the fact that you have six bodyguards mingled throughout the crowd. Furthermore, I can see that you are man of intelligence and cunning having set up this meeting the way did. So if you would be so kind as to shed some light on this encounter I would be grateful."

"Mr. Grant it is refreshing to see that reports regarding your intelligence are not overrated. This will make explaining things so much easier. I have been watching you for quite some time Mr. Grant wondering if I should approaching you to arrange a business partnership. However, my interest in you has recently changed as you may have gathered from the pictures I gave I have an intimate knowledge at least one encounter from your past. My name is Miles Yamato, CEO of Yamato Mining and the Founder of Fucanglong Investment and Security. As you may have guessed from the pictures this talk to be more than about business. I was born in the middle of 1981, nine months after the picture in the bar was taken. My mother was in the States for one last fling before she moved to China for her marriage to Chen Yamato, who was the product of Chinese and Japanese interracial couple. He also happened to be the CEO of the Yamato Mining, which he had founded years earlier. I am sure you remember my mother, after all she was a Greek Afghani who had been the result of a more than interesting marriage. I am sure you can see the traces of that heritage in my future. However, as you may have gathered Chen was not my biological father, a fact that I only recently learned about."

Mr. Grant holds up a hand and looks Miles over in slowly as things start to click in his head. A sense of surreal expectation and dread descends upon Mr. Grant's face as he looks eyes with Miles. He had to ask a clarifying question before his suspicions were confirmed in his head.

"I appreciate the fact that you have chosen to share this information with me but I am not sure how this relates to me."

"I will make it all clear in a moment Mr. Grant. My mother was diagnosed with cervical cancer about seven years ago. Well sadly she passed away a few months back but not before she revealed something to me that has since led to this meeting. You see Chen Yamato died several years ago leaving me as the sole heir to the Yamato fortune so when mama pulled me aside on her deathbed for a shocking revelation I was shocked. She told me about the trip to the United States that she had taken the weeks before her move to China. Once she was done telling me this bit of information she showed me that picture of you sitting at that bar telling me me that she had taken it as a souvenir of a weekend spent in bliss.

A momentary pause descends over the group as a waiter approaches to take their drink orders after leaving them each a glass of water.

"I will tell you this Mr. Yamato I remember that weekend now and have to agree with your mother's assessment but I am not sure where stand in your being here. I have a suspicion but I am not sure."

"Well Mr. Grant I will be blunt with this and I will just come out and say this. My mother told me that Chen was not my biological father and that she knew who that man was. Mr. Grant you are that man and while many would question my motives in coming forward now I hope you can understand that I have been watching you for the last few months debating if I should tell you that I am your son or not. I would hope that we could get to know one another and not bemoan the fact that neither of us know about the other until recently. I know as well that both of us are busy men but I have arranged it so that I can stay in the United State for the next month during which I hope to be involved in your life in some fashion. I know that you are some big time wrestler and would like to be in attendance for your next few matches."

She smiles slightly as she slowly stand up. She could remember that night a year earlier when they had first met their father. She had been one of the guards sitting in that meeting and as such had been essentially invisible. Miles had been respectful of her wishes not to be introduced to their father. In fact, he even understood the way she wanted to make herself known to the family.

"You are going to have to explain yourself sooner rather than later Sis. I can't keep stalling father and you know it. I will give him a half truth when I talk to him next but know that I will have to come clean sooner or later. Be careful, because I can't protect you in father's world."

"Who said I need your help Miles?"

Miles sighs as he shakes his head as he looks his sister in the eye.

"You know how father can be in the ring when he feels he needs to send a message. He will make you pay for his loss against Blyss and you know it. I just don't want to see you left as a broken heap in that ring. I hope you fully understand what you have unleashed Lu."

"Thank you for the sentiment brother mine, but I know what I am doing. Now do you want to spar a bit?"

Miles smiles slightly knowing what his twin sister had in mind. Growing up they had been frequent sparring partners as they perfected their martial arts skills.

Fried Rice?

The next day we find Kyuubi standing the middle of an unidentified dojo. She was in her gold and black kimono and had a smile on her lips as he she looked over to where one of the other people in the dojo stood holding a video camera. Kyuubi nodded slightly as she crossed her arms monk style. After a moment she sees the red light that indicates that the camera had started to record.

"Why Kyuubi why? That is all I have been hearing since Battleground 76. Though the really question should be who? As in who am I and what stake did I have in that matchup? To which I have to say get in line and wait until I am good and ready to reveal my plans. Let me clarify something to all of you, I DON'T owe ANYONE anything. It will all become clear in the end when I am good and ready for it to. What I did to Sah'ta Thor last week was only the beginning and I intend to get my due."

Kyuubi stops speaking as she slowly licks her lips.

"Blyss I hope you realize that I AM the ONLY reason you won last week. I AM the reason you became the first Rising Phoenix Champion. It went better than we planned it, don't you say? I hope that you don't forget my role in your victory in the weeks to come. I know you have a date at Ragnarok but I will see you soon enough to ensure that my share of the spoils in collected. I hope you don't think I will let you forget that you OWE me for services I rendered. Trust me when I say that I will come to collect what I feel is mine."

Another pause occurs as Kyuubi slowly spreads her arms in a pantamime of a bird in flight.

"Now with that being said, I feel the need to turn my attention to the IWF management. You see I think it may be time to get some lawyers involved in regards to my booking. I find it to be an insult the way IWF seems to think that is okay to play up to cultural stereotypes. If you don't know what I mean then take a look at the the Battlegrounds 76 card. What the hell is a Parker Fried Rice match? Let me tell you, it is a play on the fact that I am from China and will be facing the great Parker Wayde. Do I mind the match itself, hell no because it will allow me to face off against a man who has proven himself to be an IWF great. He is one of the few IWF grandslam champions and frankly I will enjoy showing him what I am capable of in the ring. No my contention is with the Alex Dillinger management camp who seems to think the cash in on making race related jokes. Though to be fair it isn't even the joke itself that I take issue with but rather the implications."

Kyuubi smiles darkly for a moment before starting to giggle evilily.

"It just occurred to me that I should probably dumb this town to so that the morons out there watching this can understand what I am saying. IWF management seems to think that this match they booked me in will be one that is straightforward. By comparing me to fried rice, just because of where I from, shows that the IWF management has little faith that I can get the job done. For the rednecks out there watching this is, I would liken it someone saying you are a racist just because you are from the South. I admit that is a rough comparison but it the closest I can come at this time. So with that being said I hope the IWF management will make a point to be more aware of the message it is sending with its match labeling."

Kyuubi slowly crosses her arms once agains as she stands there smiling devilishly.

"Parker darling, I hope you don't think that am going to just roll over for you. If so you are going to be in for a shock. Management may not hold high hopes for my performance but let me tell you right now that I will do everything in my power to prove the wrong. They want to play this off as some squash match to keep the Grand Slammer in tune going into Ragnarok well I have my own statement to make. You see Parker I am not afraid of you and I look forward to taking someone down with you supposed star power. All it will take is one Oni Drop and the match will be mine. DOn't think for one minute that I am scared of that little group you have pulled together either Parker. if you eVolved is going to save you from from the Demon Fox then I hope you are prepared for a rude awakening. In Phoenix you will see first hand why I am here. You will learn first hand what it means to cross my path."

With the Kyuubi turns and walks away from the camera with self assured stride. No matter what she would send a message at Battlegrounds. It would be a message felt going into the Path to Valhalla match at Ragnarok and far beyond.

Parker Wayde [vs.] Kyuubi Empty
PostSubject: Re: Parker Wayde [vs.] Kyuubi   Parker Wayde [vs.] Kyuubi I_icon_minitimeMon Jun 24, 2013 2:44 am

Dawkins House
After Battlegrounds 76
Salt Lake City

(OOC Note: Go read Skyla's RP first)

Parker moves into the living room, sizing up his surroundings. The life of Anthony Dawkins must be boring. There are no family pictures hanging in the room, and the walls are, for the most part, bare. Parker is, at once, drawn to the piece of the sectional couch that rests in the corner. What better way to make himself the center of the room then to make them sit around him by default.

Anthony Dawkins
Make yourself at home....

Skyla walks into the room and shoots Anthony a glance over her should that says she did not need his permission to do so. After the beating that she just gave him, there is nothing he could do to intimidate Skyla, let alone Parker. All three of them knew who was going to direct this conversation.

Skyla Vaughn
I wish I could tell you that you have a nice place... but we both know that this is a dump.

Skyla sits on the end of the couch to Parker's right while Anthony posts up against the wall separating the room from the hallway. Something about Parker makes him want to keep his distance. Ever since the two met backstage he has known that Parker is blunt and to the point. Whatever he has to say, this will all be over in a minute. Why risk being close together if it goes bad?

Anthony Dawkins
I don't live here. This was my parents' house. It is pretty much just an empty space now. I keep it for sentimental reasons. Otherwise, my brother would probably just turn it into a crack house.

He cuts himself off from saying anything else. Parker's eyes are burning a hole in him, and Skyla had already allowed her eyes to roll back in her head while she feigned snoring.

-Parker-
Please, go on, I can wait while you tell your life story....

Skyla Vaughn
Can we stop all the dick measuring and just get on with this?

Anthony was silently relieved that he was not the one that had to push things along. For some reason, he knew that Parker would be more perceptive to being pushed around by a female. Especially one as fine as Skyla.

Anthony Dawkins
You said you wanted to talk. Let's get moving. The faster you talk, the faster you can both get out.

Parker looks between them. There is still that latent feel of hatred between them in the air. The whole room felt tense, and yet none of it was directed towards him. It was nice being the odd man out, for once.

-Parker-
Nobody goes anywhere in IWF without somebody there to grab their hand when they reach for the next level.

Skyla Vaughn
Speak for yourself black Mr. Clean.

Skyla, had every right to call him out. She had met all the success she had thought she would since moving into IWF a month ago. Already she is being booked against people twice her size, and she is dominating them just as she did the women. She didn't need anyone's charity.

-Parker-
What about you wonder bread? You got any complaints so far?

Anthony holds up his hands as a way of telling Parker to continue. He knew how things worked in this industry and now he knew why Parker wanted to talk to them. Something Parker said about it being a "happy coincidence" earlier told him everything he needed to know. Parker was recruiting, and he had two of the best candidates at the same place, at the same time. All Anthony had to do was keep his poker face until Parker asked the yes or no question.

-Parker-
Good....

Skyla Vaughn
[under her breath and directed at Anthony]
... pussy...

Anthony Dawkins
[under his breath to Skyla]
...slut....

-Parker-
If you people are going to keep going at it, I can just leave. I am not a babysitter.

Both look at each other and come to an agreement.

-Parker-
I showed up and was offered this same handout my first day on the job. I am a little smarter than they were though. I have paid close enough attention to the two of you. [he turns to Skyla] You like bending rules almost as much as management likes making them. You have the looks, and you have the talent. That is what caught my attention. You [he turns to Anthony] have a shit record in IWF, and are not going to go anywhere by yourself. However, you are the only person circling the bottom that is my polar opposite. You can do what I cannot and I can do what you never trained to do. We will fit together perfectly.

Skyla Vaughn
So you are looking to form a tag team with something sweet to look at in the middle?

Anthony Dawkins
Nah... it ain't like that at all. He is looking for the first two pieces of something that is going to get a whole lot bigger. If he wanted something pretty to look at, he could have picked up somebody that knows when to close their mouth.

Skyla Vaughn
..... says the guy who is being recruited for his ability to fall off things.

The two share another heated glance, but then they both turn back to Parker. He is sitting, his elbows on his knees and his head up trying to read the two of them.

-Parker-
I am not hearing a no....

Neither wants to be the first to throw their hat in, even though they both knew what their answer was. Skyla had known before they walked into the room, and Anthony knew right when Parker started talking. They both found themselves wondering when it was that Parker figured out their answers. Of course he already knew, why else would he have stopped pitching the idea?

Anthony Dawkins
I am in.

Parker turns his head, and Anthony directs his eyes to the smallest IWF star in the room, and arguably the fastest rising newcomer. She looks from Parker to Anthony, and then back to Parker before deciding it was time to talk.

Skyla Vaughn
Yea.

Parker sits back on the couch now, and Anthony finally relaxes against the wall. The tension in the room seemed to dissipate a little.

-Parker-
Well then.... who could use a drink?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Parker's House
What Did I Tell You?
Parker's Address

The scene opens with Parker, but not in the place that we have found him the last few weeks. Instead, The Impact Player is lying on a black leather couch, his fingers locked, cradling the back of his head as it rests on the arm of the couch. He seems, essentially, happy. There is a smile on the face of the Grand Slam Champion. A smile that we have not seen before. Parker seems to be a new man, or at least a different man that has addressed the fans from a deteriorated office.

-Parker-
I am sorry to disappoint all of you. My analogy of using my office as a building block does not really fit this week. I did not walk out in front of you people and decimate a member of the IWF roster. Instead, I chose to walk out in front of you, and then walk away with my head held high. No, I did not take a step towards rebuilding my career... at least not on a television screen.

Parker has not so much as let his eyes roll towards the camera. As he speaks, he keeps his eyes locked on the ceiling above him. He wants the viewers to think that they are of no consequence to him. Maybe he wants to give the image that he would be having this conversation with himself even if they were not there. After all, Parker is no stranger to insanity. With the look that he has on his face, he would not even seem out of place in a mental institution right now.

-Parker-
No, this week the steps that I took were in a different direction. I have been trying to build back to the top by myself. I have been working to get back to my rightful place at the top, solo. Do you all not remember how I got to the place that I was in, back when I took Stygian off the top of the mountain? I can remember it like it was yesterday, even though it was nearly a year, to the day, ago. Parker Wayde arrives in IWF, and in doing so, scrapes a former world champion, JHalc, off the roster all together. It was the night that everyone remembers for Parker signing his name over Jay's on the dotted line. After that, and of course, a handshake with Corey Casey, Parker was part of the roster. Nobody knew what to expect back then. Parker had not wrestled a match in his life, but on the other hand, he had been training those that stepped between the ropes for years. Parker was at ringside when his superstars won championships, and set national records for attendance. I had made the trip down to ringside a great many times, but had never actually stepped between the ropes.

Parker shakes his head with the smile still on his face. Apparently remembering the past year is what has made Parker so happy. He adjusts himself on the couch, stretching so that his feet are now propped up on the opposite arm. He turns his head away from the camera, looking at the wall behind him. Pictures of Parker's graduation from Wake Forest, with his father beaming at his side. A picture of Parker holding the IWF Championship. The furthest away from Parker, the last picture before the corner of the room, a single picture of Parker and Steel Angel holding up the tag team championships.

-Parker-
Nobody saw Parker Wayde coming. Nobody could have predicted that on my first night, one year ago, that I would take out two members of Natural Law. Nobody believed their eyes when after I ended Ashten Cross's career that night, and I took his place in Natural Law. That group led me from nothing, to a Full Throttle Championship. The very last Full Throttle Champion actually. The night that I won that title was the same night that I became the most successful member of that group. Time passed, and Natural Law faded into The Empire. A different name. A different group. I was the most successful member of that group as well. Running through brick wall after brick wall, and crashing through glass ceiling after glass ceiling. I went further in one year than anyone in this company has every gone, period. Parker is the single most successful person in the history of IWF. Yet, here I am, at the very bottom, looking up at what I used to be. Look at those pictures, and plaques on the wall. Look at the man that Parker Wayde used to be before he tumbled off the top of the mountain.

This time when he shakes his head, it looks like he is trying to shake the ghosts of the last six months out of his head. He unlocks his fingers, and brings his arms together across his chest. His smile is gone. The man that we have seen the last few weeks is starting to bleed back through the face of the man before us.

-Parker-
Recently, there have been many "bad guys" that have run all over IWF. These people are covering people in blood. These people are tormenting the new GM. Don't misunderstand me, I do not condemn them for their actions. Parker is not the authority in doing the right thing. What I do not like is that they are stealing the spotlight with their actions. They are taking away from the rest of us by making these big spectacles of themselves. They know that what they are doing is causing injury, pain, and suffering. They are doing the wrong thing because doing the wrong thing brings them pleasure. Parker looks at them, and wants to hate them, but instead he covets their success. Thor had not been here more than thirty seconds before he had this group of his put together, and the Uprising title around his waist. He came here no wanting to be successful, he came here wanting to hurt people. Parker likes to see the pain in the people's eyes when he takes them apart, but when Parker steps in the ring with people, it is because he deems it necessary. If Parker were simply one of these deviants that were strolling around with the Empire of Blood, he would have stepped into the ring last week and crushed the people that were standing in it. It would not have made a difference that I had no desire to win the prize that was offered to the winner. I would have been there just for sick enjoyment. That is not Parker's way. That is not the RIGHT way.

Suddenly the contempt in Parker's face starts to recede. He has suppressed that temper that has gotten him so far in this company. Something about Parker is indeed different. He would normally use that temper to cut into those that would stand in front of him in the ring, but instead he flipped the switch, and turned that fire off. This self-control is as foreign to the viewers as it is to Parker. Finding control, while off the leash of his medication, is a new feeling, a new plane of existence for him.

-Parker-
Many people have been talking to Parker. Some of them, like you smark internet fans, have been asking for a reason that I have walked away from what seemed like an excellent opportunity to advance my career. If any of you had been paying attention, I already gave you that answer. I told you last week that I was walking away. I reiterated it moments ago. There is no behind the scenes scandal. There is no injury that I am trying to hide. It was a strategic career decision.

Parker relaxes his shoulders and lets his elbows droop down to the cushions of the couch, on either side of him. Before they can fall forward, he interlocks his fingers once again, with his palms over his sternum. He slides down the couch further, dropping his head from the arm, and onto the cushion. He crosses his ankles, trying to find some kind of comfort before he continues.

-Parker-
The other people that have been talking to Parker, some of you may have seen. I know there is a significant portion of you that follow me on twitter. You know that when other people tag Parker, and ask for a word with him behind a closed door, that eventually it will play out before your eyes. This week, it was Jericho Hill and Zach Lifer that had a proposition for Parker. However, Parker is not one to strike a deal before he has carefully considered his options. Trying to deal with forces outside IWF is never something that anyone should jump into. Take that as free advice for Parker. That is not to say that putting a little trust in others isn't something that can benefit someone. I already told you that it was because of Natural Law that I got my big start in this company. I was just a new kid coming in, and I needed a little guidance from some people that held the big belts, and knew how things worked. That, and that alone, helped push me to all of the titles that I have won. I could have been left to falter, and burn out, like the rest of the talent that comes through the door. Chad Mason did not want that to happen to me. Corey Casey did not want that to happen to me. Parker could sit here and tell you that he has more talent and more in ring ability than anyone else that has walked through the door, but that would just be ego talking. Parker is good, but being good is not enough in this industry. Therefore, Parker did make a move. He did not just walk away from the ring without competing. He walked away, and immediately set his plan in motion. It started with a cell phone, and ended with an understanding.

Parker finally gives up on finding any kind of comfort and pushes himself up off the couch, sitting squarely on the middle cushion. He plants his shoes on the floor, shoulder width apart, and leans forward, putting his elbows on his knees. He holds up his right hand and points his finger at the camera.

-Parker-
You people have watched Parker go from nothing, to being the best in IWF history. You have watched as a kid that had nothing, become a veteran that has touched all of the titles this company offers, in one shape or form. You watched me dominate my first match as easily as I did my last match. Alexander Raven fell harder and faster than Ashten Cross, or Beno and those matches were nearly a year apart. You have seen Parker.... evolve. To go from nothing, to a young man that reached his full potential, and became something more. I adapted to this environment and evolved. Now it is my job to make sure that other new comers reach their full potential, and then break through the glass ceiling. Parker is building himself up from the ground again, and he is going to take two of the biggest and brightest shining stars with him for the ride. See, for months, Parker went at it alone, and he faltered. Now, Parker is going to build himself a family.

Parker looks to his left, the camera's right, and Anthony Dawkins steps into the frame, taking a seat next to Parker and sitting in a similar position.

-Parker-
First. I needed someone that knew this business as well as I did. I needed a man that knew how to fight his way to the top. Anthony Dawkins as gotten a glimpse at the view from the top of the mountain for a regional promotion, and is now wanting to take his skill to the next level. See... he is already starting to become something greater. I did not just need any hack off the streets though, I needed someone to compliment my style. I needed a man that could do the things in the ring that I cannot do. Parker has no use for someone that has skills that I already have. We would do nothing but get into each other's way. I needed someone like Anthony Dawkins because he can go to the air right after I knock someone down to the ground. Two people, however, a faction does not make. We can work together flawlessly, but we would still be missing something. Or more... someone. Our two styles are so far apart that we needed someone to bridge the gap, without being some kind of worthless piece of dead weight. We needed someone, to bridge the gap, but to also make sure that they brought something to the table that neither of us could have.

Skyla Vaughn
What you needed was a pair of tits and an ass that will not quit.

Skyla Vaughn walks into the frame from the other side. She shakes her ass in front of the camera to wake up the viewers, and then takes her seat next to Parker.

-Parker-
All show aside, this girl cannot be beaten. She has taken out men twice her size, and this week she is taking on one that is nearly three times her size. Skyla has that "fuck you" attitude that we need. She speed that rivals Dawkins and the ability to make people tap faster than I could. She is dynamite, in the smallest, and sexiest possible package. She wanted into this business two years ago, but was turned away until she became something more than just a pretty face. She took her talents and became something.... and you can say it with me.... MORE.

Parker pauses, and looks over to Dawkins, who nods. Secondly, he looks over his other shoulder, to Skyla Vaughn, who also nods in approval. Only then does Parker look back to the camera.

-Parker-
We have already evolved, and now we are going to teach the rest of the roster how to do the same. We are the good guys, the ones who are leading the charge to the top, by our example. Anyone that steps in our way, is about to have our collective, and of course, metaphorical, foot broken off in their ass. This is not the same story that The Empire of Blood will give you. This is not, "you're with us, or you're against us." We are not going to mow you down just because you do not agree with us. That kind of mentality we will leave to the pack of dogs known as The Empire of Blood. They have no focus. They were not handpicked. They do not have the intellect or the wisdom that we do. We are the most well rounded group you could ask for, and we are here to help you....

Parker's Locker Room
During Skyla's Match
Battlegrounds 77

Anthony throws his magazine at Parker. He had heard Skyla's theme stop booming through the arena, and the fans had started to come alive for the actual match. Mixed boos and cheers would echo through from time to time. Dawkins can feel the arena move from the sound of those in attendance. Parker looks up as the magazine falls to the ground in front of him. He looks to Anthony, who motions for Parker to take out his earphones. With a slightly irritated look on his face he does so, and waits to let Anthony tell him what the distraction is all about.

Anthony Dawkins
[motioning at the flat panel TV screen built in above the lockers]
You don't want to see how she is doing?

-Parker-
I would not have recruited her if she needed to be babysat. We will know when we are needed.

Anthony Dawkins
Oh yea? How is that?

Parker sighs, not wanting to get into this for the hundredth time. Dawkins had the skills that he did not in the ring, but when it came to blind faith and confidence, he didn't have it in him. Parker knew that Skyla was going to be all right on her own. He would get the word when the match was dwindling down to a finish. That is how things work around here. He is up next, when they need him, they would call for him.

-Parker-
There will be a less-than-bangable bitch that will come knocking when the time comes. At that point, we head out. We don't wait until the match is over, unless we have to. She is on her own until then.

Anthony seems to consider this for a moment. He looks back at the black screen above the lockers, suddenly having to fight the urge to turn the damn thing on. Parker talked him into this, but that did not make him the one calling the shots. Dammit, if he wanted to see her pull it off by herself, then who was Parker to tell him no? Was he really not concerned?

Anthony Dawkins
And if she is currently getting squashed out there right now?

-Parker-
Then she was a waste of both my time, and yours. If she can't hack it, we move on without her.

Anthony Dawkins
Remind me not to get on your bad side.

Parker lets a smirk cross his lips before he can force it back. For being older than Parker, Anthony knew nothing at all about a game face. Parker was terrified that this group was going to fall apart before it got moving. If it did, it would all be on him. He was not about to let anyone know that though. As for the other thing...

-Parker-
I do not have a bad side. All I have is a long list of people that are in my way. Imma scratch them off as we go. Nobody is going to be made an example of. Nobody is a target. It is simple. People step out of our way, or are run over. It is not personal. Nothing we do is going to be personal.

Anthony is impressed. Parker seemed to have a direction, and if Anthony could keep his mouth shut long enough, he could ride that direction all the way to the High Impact title. That was the real reason he came here. That belt spoke to everything that he wanted in his career. Flex Johnson's challenge was the thing that attracted him to IWF, and if he followed Parker, it would only be a matter of time until he got his shot.

Anthony Dawkins
What about Kyuubi? She one of those people on your list? I mean she is just a new girl around here. She has only been in this business for about as long as I was gone. I have seen her in action, up close. You can't sleep on her.

Another heavy sigh from Parker. It was a puzzle that he had been trying to solve all day. She does not seem to be on the side of the Empire of Blood, but that does not mean that she is not in their way. Parker is set on moving to the top, and bringing down the house of cards all around the Empire of Blood as he does. They will never be "good" guys. They cannot be saved, so they have to be stopped. Where does this girl fit in though? What does it mean for tonight?

-Parker-
You want honesty?

Anthony Dawkins
Don't we all?

Parker cannot help but let out an actual laugh. Not one that is forced at a bad joke and not one that is a mask to cover fear, but an actual laugh. That was normally Parker's line. Maybe he had picked correctly when he picked Dawkins.

-Parker-
I don't know how she fits, but I don't think it matters. She is connected to Thor, even if she is not playing by his rules right now. That puts her against us. I did not put her there, she did. I could go out there and walk away from the match again, but that is not what tonight is about. She might not be on the list, but tonight she stands in the way of our goals. That makes her just another person we have to scratch.

Its Anthony's turn to laugh, but Parker only looks at him curiously. Apparently he missed the joke.

Anthony Dawkins
She calls herself the Demon Fox or something like that. It implies having claws. You said something about wanting to scratch her.

Parker shakes his head. He was never one for puns. Especially when he should be focusing and not having a juvenile conversation.

-Parker-
I really do not care who she is, whom she is related to, or what she is doing in this company. They wanted to put some kind of funny spin on the name of the match, so they put the Asian against the black guy and threw a label on it. This match does not mean a damn thing. They could have put the title "Just Because" on it and it would not have made a lick of difference. This week, she drew the short straw and got me. It is gonna be a damn shame that she did to. We have too much to lose tonight. What about you? Are you ready?

Dawkins sits back and kicks his feet back up on the table in front of him.

Anthony Dawkins
I am not the one being thrown into the fire tonight. The only two of us that made it on the card are you and Skyla. I get to sit back and live it up.

-Parker-
No. No you don't.

Anthony Dawkins
You mean I am coming with?

There is a knock on the door. Parker knows what it means. Hell, he was expecting it before now. He immediately stands up, and motions with his head for Dawkins to follow him. With a sigh, the risk taker puts his feet down and starts to get up.

-Parker-
Listen, no bullshit tonight, let's take it easy. We do not want all of our cards on the table before they need to be played.

Parker turns the handle, and swings the door open. The attendant standing there with a headset nods and walks towards the staging area. Dawkins follows Parker, flipping the light off as he comes through the doorway.

Anthony Dawkins
You are preaching to the choir.

The door closes softly behind them. For eVolved, it was show time.
