Origins #3 Danrpsig

Ryoko was a midcarder in SWF. He played the typical heel mostly because of his size. He wore a red and yellow mask in the ring and basically threw people around until the protagonist would surpise him and win. Though Dan viewed it as unbearable dredgery Ryoko enjoyed it. That is why Dan was so hesitant at first. If he was going to make scraps, he didn't want to prance around the ring like a fool doing it, but Ryoko convinced him it was nothing like that.

Day after day Dan spent his time in the ring. Hours flew by while he took hard hits and bumps from Ryoko and other training partners. He didn't like it. Not one bit. Dan was waiting for the day when he would be able to try and execute moves but every training session was just about taking bump after bump. Ryoko told him he needed to know how to take a move before giving the move. Dan was getting tired of it. Dan was almost ready to quit when one day Ryoko told him to step into the ring. Inside the ring was a man by the ring name of Scorpion. He was a tall lanky guy that was also new, but he had already wrestled a few matches. Ryoko told Dan that they would have an exhibition match to evaluate Dan. Dan became excited for the first time in a long while.

Ryoko refereed the match. As soon as the two of them locked up Dan quickly realized he barely knew any moves. Sure he can probably punch and knock out this guy easily but it was a pro wrestling match. Scorpion started to get some leverage so Dan quickly took himself to the mat and rolled out of the lock. Dan remembered some Judo takedowns that Sensei Takato taught him. Dan locked up with Scorpion again. This time he stepped over and hip tossed Scorpion. Scorpion landed hard on his back. Scorpion tried to get back up but Dan held onto his arm. Dan then locked him into an armbar and legitimately made Scorpion tap. When Dan let go Scorpion was angry. He was about to take a swing at Dan when Ryoko got between them. Later on Ryoko had a talk with Dan where Ryoko explained to him that the point was not to win but to entertain the fans. Coming from a sport where you had to take someone's head off, Dan didn't get it right away, but he tried harder. Over the next few weeks Dan would have in gym matches with people constantly perfecting his craft. One afternoon Ryoko brought in a guy but told Dan he would have to lose. Dan looked at him. Ryoko told him that it was part of the business. To put over others sometimes. And if he didn't do it here, he wouldn't be able to work at SWF. They had zero tolerance for that there. Ryoko warned him there would be consequences for that.

Ninja
Good work out there. You beat SBK and Shadow Demon in one night.

Dan
I destroyed them like I said I would.

Ninja
You know what you're going to be doing at Fallout?

Dan
No. Not really. You?

Ninja
I'm not sure either.

Dan
Well I gotta go, I'll see you later...

Ninja
Wait.

Dan turned around.

Ninja
Chris wants to see you.

Dan's expression turned from unamused to laughing hysterically.

Dan
Not a fucking chance. Tell him to go fuck himself.

Dan hated the mask. He wasn't used to wearing one. He didn't like wearing masks as a kid and he did not like it now, but the SWF Manager made him wear it. Apparently he was obsessed with masks because over half the SWF roster wore one. He was told it was a culture thing but Dan wasn't buying it.

It was the night of his first match and Dan was a bit nervous. There were a ton of people watching but he wasn't the star of the show. He was just someone who was going to be in the ring for ten minutes to kill time before the main card. Dan met up with the man he was going to wrestle that night. His name was Omigawa and he had been doing this for a while. Ryoko assured him Omigawa was a true pro and the match would go smoothly. The two men shook hands as they approached the curtain. Omigawa was out first. As his music played for a few seconds Omigawa walked through the curtains calmly. Dan could hear the roar of the fans as Omigaway burst out. The singe of sparks were hardly noticeable as Omigawa made his way down the ramp. Suddenly Dan's hands started sweating. He realized it was just a few minutes until he would have to walk out. He didn't know if the fans would like him or not. Ryoko was behind him and reassured him that it would be fine and that more impprtantly he was there to entartain them. Dan's music came on and Ryoko pushed him. Dan looked back reluctantly then went through the curtains.

The crowd greeted him warmly as he walked down the ramp but that could not help him renew his self esteem after wearing a cat mask in public. His stage name was "Ocelot". The idea was that he was as fast as a cat or something. Atleast that's what the translator got out of the SWF Manager. His finisher became the pounce which was basically a double stomp from just about anywhere like the turnbuckle or spring boarding off the ropes or even just jumping in the air. The crowd loved those high impact moves.

In the ring Omigawa was prancing about getting ready for Dan to step into the ring. Dan looked around. The place was brightly lit with thousands of people in attendance. It was surreal. Dan rolled into the ring and raises his arms. Omigawa stood there applauding him. The whole time he heard the announcer speaking but didn't understand a word. All he knew was there was excitement in the air. Suddenly the referee stepped in and the bell rang.

Dan
So, we finally meet...

Rick
Hello Dan.

Dan stood in the hallway in front of Rick Christian the owner.

Dan
Hope I'm not keeping you from anything.

Rick
No, of course not. I wanted to talk to you too.

Dan
Oh really? Well go ahead.

Rick
I'll tell you later on.

Dan
No, I insist. For the owner of IWF the greatest federation on Earth. It's the least I can do.

Rick
Well, I didn't like what you said last week about me.

Dan
Really? I had no clue.

Rick
In fact, I don't like what you've been saying about IWF and those involved.

Dan
Oh. I don't recall. Can you please tell me what offended you?

Rick
Don't play dumb with me. You know very well what I'm talking about.

Dan
Oh you do. Then I'm glad were on the same page. I wanted to talk about that too. I mean I was as outraged as you were.

Rick looks at him confused.

Dan
I mean who could do all those things. To me of all people? Make me lose the title, put over untalented and undeserving people over me, treat me poorly. Who could do such a thing?

Rick becomes impatient.

Dan
Who would do such things?

Rick
No one. Because those things didn't happen! And even if they did, it all happened because of you! You shouldn't blame anyone else for your short comings!

Dan
Really? No one else was in on it? Not even you?

Rick was taken aback.

Rick
Don't you dare accuse me of such crap. Listen you ungrateful piece of shit. Who do you think you are? You're nothing special. I just took you from some broken down place that I don't even remember the name of. Your skills were mediocre at best, and I still gave you pushes. Pushes that you didn't deserve in the first place you spoiled brat. So don't blame me or my staff for what happened. You failed yourself Dan.

Dan
Listen, you useless bag of bones, I have been busting my ass for this company from day one. There is no one back there that works harder than me. Or better than me. You understand? You have your Chuck Matthew's or your Brandon Macdonalds who you treat like kings just to make them last as long as humanly possible while you dress them up all nice and pretty so you can parade them everynight to those adoring shit for brains you call fans. No wait you call them your cattle. Because you milk them for all they're worth. They give you their life savings and you give them the shittiest matches possible. You force feed them these boring and phoney characters and make them believe that they are the best. Well they're not and you know it. You know it, but you will never admit it. Because to admit that you would admit that you are just as fake as them. It will prove that you are nothing more than a hack. And above all else you will have to admit that I am the best. And that you made a mistake. Your biggest mistake.

Dan locked up with Omigawa. They struggled in the center of the ring both trying to gain leverage. Omigawa went under and somehow got behind Dan and locked his waist up. Dan got to the ropes and caused a rope break. The ref shouted something and then broke the two up. The crowd was impressed by this. Dan smiled, but it was gone as soon as he saw Omigawa come in to lock up again. Omigawa overpowered him and backed him up into a corner. The ref stepped in and broke it up again. All of a sudden Dan charged at Omigawa. Omigawa stepped to the side and hip tossed Dan. Dan got back up and was met with a punch. Omigawa threw another one and Dan went down. The crowd cheered for Omigawa as he posed for them. Omigawa then ran to the ropes then ran back only to elbow drop Dan on the back. Dan tried to crawl to the ropes. The crowd cheered as Omigawa motioned to pull Dan up to his feet. After pulling Dan back up Omigawa posed for the crowed and then grabbed Dan's head and put him in a powerbomb position. Omigawa signaled to the crowd, but Dan fought back. He struggled out and finally lifted Omigawa over him. The crowd cheered. They loved him. Dan got riled up as the crowd continued to cheer. Dan threw clothesline after clothesline. After getting up from the third one Omigawa stood up dazed. As Omigawa stumbled Dan picked him up on his shoulders and did a samoan drop near one of the turnbuckles. Dan signaled to the crowd as he climbed up the turnbuckle. Then he jumped looking to stomp Omigawa through the ring but he rolled away. Dan landed on his feet. Omigawa grabbed him by the head again and put him in the powerbomb position. Omigawa lifted him but Dan was able to sunset flip over. Instead of pinning him Dan stood up and jumped over Omigawa's guard and landed the pounce. Dan covered him and it was over.

Dan
Frank? Are you fucking kidding me? I destroyed this guy the last time I fought him.

Dan looked at the screen in the hallway.

Ninja
Wow. They have these touchscreens everywhere now.

The screen showed the Fallout Poster and the posters for each match.

Dan
Besides, how the fuck did he get this spot? I busted my ass day in and day out. I won five matches. FIVE MATCHES! And he won ...two? TWO?! TWO MOTHERFUCKING MATCHES?! Are you kidding me? This is bullshit!

Dan steps away before he punches the screen. He walks off and looks off somewhere.

Dan
You know what? I'll end Frank's career this time. That masochist wanted his career to be over the first time? Then after he lost to Chuck that idiot still came back? Well, I'll make sure he's gone this time. For good. Because this time he won't have a choice...

✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯

Ryoko congratulated him after the match. So did everyone else. Omigawa shook his hand and Ryoko told him later that he had said that it was a very good match. And that Omigawa would like to work with him again in the future. Dan felt good. After that performance and all the positive feedback he decided that this would be his new career. He felt that he could get really good at this. He continued to walk around backstage taking in all the good vibes. Then some of the wrestlers took him to meet someone. They lead him to the locker room where someone was sitting. The guy was obviously American. He was getting ready for a match. When they walked in. Ryoko walked through and explained to Dan that he was the only othe American there. His name was Bryan. The entire time he looked unamused. After a few minutes he explained that he was about to go out to his match. He picked up a white clown mask and put it on and looked at Dan for a minute. Then walked off. Later on Dan learned that his in ring name was Insane Clown.

✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯

What the hell Frank? Can I be Frank with you? Get it? LOL. But seriously. Why are you still here? Why? For fuck's sake take your ball and go home motherfucker. Oh wait that reminds me. Didn't you find out that your son wasn't yours? You know I was just talking about Johnny last week and how at this point he wishes his son wasn't even born. Do you know his own son Nick Ridicule betrayed him? Woah I just realized you and Johnny have something in common. You were both betrayed by Nick Ridicule. But that's not all. You were both beaten to a pulp by me. And that is why I say: What the fuck. I have beaten not only you but a pile of other IWF superstars. Yet I only get a number one contendership match now? While you are just placed here like dog turd beside me. I don't even know what you had to do to get this spot. All I know is that it's going to be the same story for you. Not just at Fallout but for as long as you are breathing. God is going to set you up like a bowling pin only to have you be struck down again and again and again and again. It's just your roll of the dice. Your luck of the draw. You just have to live with it.

You've been set to fail your entire life. You failed your parents. You failed them by going into MMA and Pro wrestling against their own wishes. You failed in all of your relationships. One of them was in a coma wasn't she? And one of them you planned to marry. How did that work out? Oh, and this last one was a real gem wasn't she? We both know what happened there. You hopped from fed to fed until you came here. Only to hit rock bottom. Well, that's what you think. You haven't hit rock bottom yet. You will after fallout.

And at this point why should I even care? I mean I beat you before. I know I could beat you any day of the week. After all I am the best in the business despite what all of them would have you believe. You should know yourself. But apparently you forgot, because you came back for seconds. Well speaking of "business" you are bad for business. Rick Christian sees you as a goldmine even though you are worn out and pretty useless. He thinks that the fans still respond to you as long as you get booked. You wanna know what I think? I think you are just taking up space on the card that could be used for someone with actual talent. Someone who could still perform a roll in the ring without having a back spasm. Someone like Aric Voss, or Jett Black, or Vagabond could have been pushed instead of your tired old ass. Furthermore you're just another mouth to feed on IWF's budget. A mouth that barely contributes anything. Rick thinks that despite your piss poor performance in the ring, you make for it in marketing and in ads. He thinks your pretty little face still sells enough shirts to make up for all your deficits. The thing is, Rick is wrong. Yeah I said it. I said it when nobody else would. Rick Christian is wrong. It's just that everybody else is scared to tell him that. All those poor souls who make charts and spreadsheets of IWF's projected profit are too afraid to tell Rick that promoting freeloaders like you is killing IWF.

You know goddam well that what I am saying is true. When the best IWF can do is promote two guys who stole each other's women and sell it as the premier storyline, you know it's gone to shit. No wait. That would actually be okay. What IWF is really doing is having one asshole steal another asshole's ADOPTED daughter and that asshole gets revenge by stealing the guy's former booty call. Yeah that's right. I'm talking about the two golden boys of IWF. Chuck and Brandon. They both made names for themselves back in NLWF. But you know that. You know that very well Frank. Rick snatched those two up from the beginning. They are his most beloved and loyal dogs. But Rick doesn't realize that dogs get old. They get old very quickly. Then they die. Have you ever had a dog die Frank? Naturally? If you did then you would know that in the time leading up to their deaths they start to decay. And it's very noticeable. They aren't themselves anymore. They aren't the once fun and loving pets you once had. They know something is wrong. They know their time is near. So they go out. They go out into the back and die. Either by your hand or by something else. They die.

It's a funny thing though. When kids see this. When they see their old friend dying. Their buddy that grew up with them. See kids don't know yet. They don't know that dogs lead short lives. They don't know they die. So when they see old yeller acting oddly. When they see him depressed and sad they get confused. They'll ask why? Why is Frank like this? Then an adult will have to tell the kid sooner or later Franky is going bye bye. Then they will probably tell a big lie about how Frank is going to a better place.

See what I'm getting at here? LOL, I could tell by the expression on your face that you do. I don't think your stupid. You're just losing it. All of it. See Rick is the little kid that doesn't want to let go of you. He wants to believe that you are still at your prime. He wants to believe that he can play catch with you, and run with you. He wants to believe that you can jump through hoops and pounce on him at will. He'll attack anyone who says otherwise. He doesn't want to accept the fact that you are at the end of your days. Like some stubborn kid sitting on the floor crying next to his dying dog. He doesn't get it. And sadly, he will never get it. That's why it's up to me to take you out back to the shed old yeller. Just like I did with the likes of Death-Angel.

It's a powerful scene. The old dog follows the owner into the shed. And shoots him in the head. But the whole time all you see is the shed. You only hear the gunshot. Still, it's more powerful that way. Why? Because it leaves the last seconds of that poor dog's life up to imagination. Sure they could have shown you the whole thing. They could have shown a close up as the owner pointed the muzzle towards the dog's head. And they could have used some cool blood splattering effects. But no. They chose to leave it up to you. Because you already know what's going to happen.

Unfortunately I wont have that luxury at Fallout. There will copious amounts of cameras not including the ones the fans bring. They will all capture the harsh and unmerciful beating I will give to you. There will be thousands in attendance and millions of others watching at home. They will all witness your death. They will witness your execution. They will witness the end of your career.

But there's one thing I don't get. Why bother? Why go through all the trouble? I mean you came to IWF. I beat you down. You lost your job at IWF. You asked for it back. Why? To get a few wins? And when you finally got a few you asked for this match. Against odds you can't beat. Against a force you can't beat. Against a man you can't beat. Face it Frank. You can't beat me. And you never will. Get that through your fucking skull.
