Dan was in the ring against four others in a fourway elimination table match. Eventually it got down between The Dragon and him. Dan laid him out and put him on the table and was about to do the pounce from the turnbuckle when suddenly someone pushed him off. He landed on the canvas. It was one of the other two competitors. He thought they had already been incapacitated after going through a table each. Apparently not as the fourth competitor came back and started beating on Dan. The Dragon came to and got off the table. The three of them stomped on the defenseless Dan. They picked him up and put him on the table. The fans watched as The Dragon climbed up the turnbuckle and did his patented split legged moonsault on Dan. Dan went through the table and the match was over. Due to the match stipulations not only did Dan lose the GWC Intercontinental he also lost his mask. The other two walked up to the broken body. They gestured to the crowd that they were going to remove the mask. Dan was in no condition to fight it off. They pulled it off of him and revealed his identity. The fans didn't really care who it was, but they did care about the degredation of having one's mask removed. It was one of the most insulting things to do in pro wrestling. Dan rolled out of the ring and made his way up the ramp and disappeared through the curtains. The fans didn't know if they would ever see him again. But this is exactly what the GWC Manager wanted.

Dan put his phone away and started his workout. He did some kettlebell work and did some old boxing routine's. After that he drove to the store and picked up a cold can of Heineken. As soon as he parked his car at the hotel he popped it open and took a big gulp. He wiped upper lip with his arm and sighed. It had been a long day for him. In fact the only time he had a break was in the gym and right now. All day he had been traveling and promoting himself. Yes, himself. Because IWF won't promote him. Dan checked his phone again.

Dan pulled up with his car into the parking lot. The building itself was huge. Inside the convention was happening. Dan entered through the automatic doors and felt the cool air conditioning. He knew where he wanted to go but didn't know the direction. He walked around until he found a table.
Dan
Excuse me, you know where the THQ room is?
Lady
Which one?
Dan
For IWF 2012.
The woman looked down onto some papers.
Lady
Okay, it's one floor up and it is room B-10.
Dan
Thanks.
Dan headed towards the center where the elevator was. Dan was the last to get on with a group of people. There must have been atleast nine of them in there. They reached the second floor and Dan was about to get off when someone recognized him.
Voice
Hey it's him.
But when Dan turned around the elevator door was just about closed. Dan contiued to walk down the hall to conference room B-10.Eventually he found the door and opened it slowly. Inside he saw maybe around a hundred people seated all facing the stage. Most of them were fans. The ones up front were camera men and press. On the stage was a huge projection screen like a theater. Off to the side was a lecturn where someone was talking. Also on the stage were a few people seated. Dan looked and recognized Rick Christian as one of them. The man with the lecturn was talking about something about the IWF 2012 game. He was mostly talking about the developmental process and how much work his THQ team had put into it but he also hyped it up gameplay wise. There were a few scenes of actual IWF footage, while there was barely any footage of the game because it wasn't released yet. Eventually he wrapped it up and handed the stage over to none other than Rick Christian. Rick got up from his seat and shook the guy's hand. He then went up.

IWF, and I myself personally, is very pleased to worked with THQ again this year in the making of IWF 2012. I would like to personally congratulate and commend everyone at THQ who worked on the game for delivering such a fine product. I am sure everyone will enjoy the game more than I do.
Rick laughed and some of the audience did too.
Rick
I'm not much into video games myself, but I've heard from those who are familiar with the games that this is the best one yet. I'm sure millions of fans worldwide will go out rushing to buy this game once it hits stores. Last year we met our quota and profited a good two hundred million plus dollars. I will expect an even bigger profit this year, but more importantly I expect that we will invite more fans to the series.
Rick cleared his throat.

Unfortunately our IWF Guest Superstar wasn't able to make it. Chuck Matthews endured several injuries at Fallout where he had an exciting match against Brandon Macdonald. I wish them both a speedy recovery so they can come back to the ring as soon as possible. Well the reason Chuck was going to be here is because...
The projector showed a mock up cover of the game.

...He is on the cover of the game! So it is very unfortunate he couldn't be here today. But as you can see, Bobby Marshall is here.
Bobby waved from his seat.
Rick
All of us at IWF thought that Chuck should be on the cover of the game cause he is simply the best in the business. I mean what can you say about the guy that hasn't already been said. Multiple time tag team champion. Multiple time world champion. Amazing matches throughout his career. Don't get me wrong. There were other candidates. Really good candidates but none of them were quite like Chuck Matthews. There really is only one Sex Icon... in IWF.
The crowd laughed.

But seriously. Chuck has really turned it around. Just a few months ago he was away because of an injury. So that kinda makes it a little scary that he is in the hospital again but don't worry. He'll come back like he always does. As you can see Chuck looks really cool on the cover. Any opinions on it?
A few hands raised up from the fans but only one voice was heard.

Yeah. I got an opinion on it.
Everyone turned. Dan walked down the aisle of seated spectators. He was in his casual clothing, jeans and his patented Dan Alexander shirt. (Click To Buy It Now) *. Rick couldn't believe what was happening.
Dan
Hi Rick.
Rick
...What in the hell are you doing here?
Dan
What? Can't a fan enjoy the expo?
Dan looked around and the fans cheered him.
Rick
Can you please take a seat then?
Dan
Oh yeah, but on my opinion? I think the cover sucks.
With that Dan sat down next to the fans.
Rick tried to regain his composure.
Rick
Alright, that's your opinion. Anyone else with an opinion? Anyone?
Dan
By the way I knew it would suck. I mean these are the same people that put out this shit.
Dan held up a game and showed it to everyone.
Everyone laughed.
Rick
Anyone else?
No one else raised their hands.
Rick
Okay, moving along. I guess that's just about it for the game. Unless there are any questions.
At that moment two things happened. Rick hated himself for saying that and Dan raised his hand.
Dan
Me. I've got a question.
Rick

Dan

Dan
...Why am I not on the cover?
The fans cheered at this as they awaited for Rick's answer.
Rick
...I...we...
Rick struggled to answer. Suddenly a fan offered his advice.

PUT DAN ON THE COVER! WOOO!!
The other fans agreed to this. Then everyone turned to see Rick's reaction.
Rick
Well that is kind of impossible to do at this point. I mean everything is finalized...
Another fan chirped up.
Fan
Just use Photoshop!!!

YEAH!!! WOOOO!!!
Dan just sat there smiling while Rick was on the verge of bursting into flames.
Rick
...Okay settle down. Settle down people. It's much more than just changing the picture. We would have to recall a ton of printed covers already which probably number near the millions by now and that would cost us a ton of money.
The people booed.
Rick
And even if we didn't have to deal with that we would definitely have to deal with legal issues. Dan would have to sign an agreement along with other things.
Dan
I'm perfectly fine with signing any piece of paper from you Rick Christian. I trust you whole heartedly. I know you would never ever ever try to screw me over. I think you are the most honest man in this room.
Rick
You know what Dan? If your finished I would like to get Bobby up here and say a few words...
Dan
A few words? HA! I bet I know what those few words are. Go ahead bring the big guy up here.
Rick stepped down and Bobby got right up and marched towards the lecturn.
Bobby
Hey listen you butthead!
Dan
AW! I thought you were going to say "buttface". Looks like I was wrong butthead.
Bobby
No! You're the butthead! You butthead!!!
Bobby started to make his way down the stage but security stopped him.
Dan
Really Rick? You thought it was a good idea to bring Bobby? How professional.
Rick got up angrily and went to the lecturn.
Rick
ARE YOU HAPPY NOW DAN! YOU RUINED EVERYTHING!
Dan
No. I am not happy. I'm still not on the cover.
Rick stammered off.
Dan
And I didn't ruin everything. Right guys?
He turned around to the fans. They applauded him. He stood up and bowed.
Dan
Thank you. Thank you. But now I must leave.
Dan started to go but he said hello to the fans and signed a few autographs before he left.
----------6 Hours Later----------
Dan took another sip of his beer. He sat there and thought about his match at Fallout. He was still felt the effect of that match but that barely bothered him. He was thinking about how he was so close to being the number one contender and failing at the last second. The odds against him were very overwhelming. His opponent for Fallout was switched two times. That has never happened before. Furthermore the guy ended up being Frank Hart's son who he knew nothing about. He was this close. Then he could avenged his loss to VIncent Van Rose.
Suddenly he heard a police siren and looked at his rearview mirror. He saw the iconic red and blue lights of a police cruiser flashing.
Dan
Oh great.
Dan looked down at his beer. It was too late to do anything about it. The police officer walked up to his window. Dan pulled it down.
Dan
Good evening officer.
Officer
License and registration please.
Dan slowly reached into his glove compartment and pulled out the paperwork. The officer looked at his license.
Officer
Would you please step out of the car please?
Dan
What for?
Officer
Step out of the car now.
Dan slowly opened the door as the officer backed up.
Officer
Get out of the vehicle and put your hands behind your head.
Dan stood there and put his hands behind his head. The officer searched him.
Officer
How much have you had to drink?
Dan
I just had a few sips of that beer.
Officer
You do know that driving under the influence is against the law right? It's a big deal.
Dan
Yeah, but I started drinking when I got here.
Officer
Yeah, and I'm supposed to believe that. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say or do may be used against you in the court of law...
Dan
You're arresting me?
Officer
Put your hands behind you.
The police officer took out his handcuffs and put them on Dan.
Dan
You have to be kidding me.
Officer

The GWC Manager assured him that this would put him even more over with the fans. Dan wasn't so sure. The idea was to have Dan appear to be apart of the company and just destroy other wrestlers. Dan himself thought that was bland and boring but he would progress in the company. So he went with it. Week after week he dominated every match. Knocking people out with his new finisher the crushing knee strike. Like the GWC Manager said the fans went with it and accepted him as one of the big players in GWC. Eventually Dan faced off against the GWC World Champion and beat him decisively thus cementing Dan's legacy in the company.
Christie called him again. She reminded him that she was pregnant. She said that it could be no one other's than his. He then asked her if it was Bryan's. She said no and ended up being pissed that he would ask that. He actually did want to piss her off. He was angry at her. He couldn't help but hate her. She was using the baby as an excuse to get back with him. After he had tried so hard to reach her. Deep down inside he wanted to be with her though, but he just couldn't let go of the chip on his shoulder. He wasn't just about to let it go and take her back into his arms. She was four months in and it started becoming scary for her by the sound of it. She said she was all alone and had to quit SWF. After a while of talking Dan finally gave in and said he would stop by to see how she was doing.
When he got there he almost didn't knock. He thought about just leaving and never answering her calls again. He thought about leaving the country and taking her out of his life forever. He know he couldn't do that though. He could, but it wouldn't be right. What if that really was his baby inside of her? What if that child was really his? How hard would it be having a single mother? Maybe Christie would marry someone else, but still. It would be hard not knowing who your real father was. Would his child go trying to look for him? He thought about the possibility of having a knock on his door twenty years later and finding out it was his son or daughter. All of a sudden the door opened. Dan realized he had just knocked without thinking about it. She peeked out. They saw each other for the first time in months. She looked different. She was not how he remembered her. She wasn't as happy as she used to be. She invited him in. The place seemed a little unkept. More unkept then he remembered. He sat down at the small table she had. She offered him some coffee but he didn't want any. Dan took a good look at her. Her body definitely had gone through some changes. She used to be a petite woman but now she had a belly. Dan couldn't stop staring at it. Christie noticed. Dan for the first time felt he was connected to the living thing inside of her. He started to believe he was the father. Christie finally spoke and broke the awkward silence.
Christie
It's yours.
Dan looked up at her. She was actually smiling although it wasn't as innocent as when they were together. That one night at SWF changed them forever. It tore them apart. But the night before that one changed their lives in a different way. It may have just brought them back together. Dan stood up from his seat and walked over to her. She let him touch her belly. He felt it and wondered what was in there. What miracle of life was just starting in there? Then he noticed they were close to each other. He hadn't been this close to a person in a while. He looked into her eyes. Dan wanted to be in love. Dan wanted to be in love with her the way it was before, but he didn't know if it was right. He turned the thought off in his mind told her he had to go. They simply said bye to each other.

With that Dan and Ninja parted ways. As Dan walked back to the hotel he knew the whole thing had been set up by Rick. Rick knew exactly where Dan was staying and could not resist getting back at him for what happened at the THQ convention. This was crossing the line though. He was getting Dan arrested. The next thing that Rick might do could be very serious and could cost him his career. Dan thought if he should stop before it got any worse but he realized that would mean giving into Rick and his plans. Rick could just fire him anyway. Dan had to keep Rick thinking about him. He had to keep getting on his nerves so he couldn't resist focusing his attention on him. Dan knew Rick couldn't help himself from trying to get revenge. He eventually would make Rick slip up and fall flat on his face. He was just waiting for the right moment to do so.
He opened the door to his room and was shocked to find it had been rummaged through. All the drawers and closets had been opened and all his stuff was spread out. He quickly checked to see if anything was missing. Only his laptop was. Dan called the front lobby but they were no help. Dan realized it was pretty easy to break into these rooms. All they had to do was steal a maid's card key. Dan gathered up his stuff and left. He went to another hotel hoping that it wouldn't happen again.

But will also be in posession of Rick Christian's personal Playboy Collection****!!!! I personally made sure that went in there so you can thank me later future winner of the Battle for the Briefcase Tournament. Oh yeah, I also left a condom in there. You know, because as soon as you win that thing Alison will be all over you.
