| So I sat in my locker for what seemed like hours on end staring at the T.V just waiting for them to announce the main event for tonight's matchup. It was funny that less than 2 months ago I was at the bottom of the food chain, just another newbie chasing his dreams.
Now look at me, I'm a champion of the undercard and yet I'm going into my 2nd main event of IWF.
It really brings back some good memories of my old home DW during its final days. At that time I was a becoming a big talent, really underrated and voted "Next person to become Ultimate champion" by many fans. I closed my eyes listening to the soft sound of the wind when suddenly the memories come back to take me on a trip to that time when I became the last Heavyweight champion........
Dominion Wrestling: February 2nd, 2010.
It was around this time when I reformed my old tag team the ImmortalAngels. However since my former partner was unable to return, I had to get a replacement. My replacement came in the form of my former student Deshun the Beast, he was much like my former partner: Tall, strong and full of energy. However he had two different traits that separated him from ImmortalBeast and this is: He's neither cocky nor arrogant at least to Immortal's standards and he's more respectful around me and the people backstage. So naturally he was the perfect replacement, last season we kicked off this reformed team with a solid winning streak however this time around, we were starting to lose control. Also around this time a new stable of heels came into DW hoping to make a huge impact. They call themselves the System Lords and their gimmick was pretty simple. The group consisted of three guys and a woman, the leader was called RA after the sun god. The bigger man was the Death god Sokar, the other guy was Apophis the serpent god and the woman was known as the Queen of the Gods Hathor. They made a big impact by having two of their members get decisive wins over two big time members of the roster one of them being a former Heavyweight champion. Meanwhile me and Deshun try to get a shot at the tag titles and at one point we earned that shot, however we lost it due to some botched tag communications. Meanwhile the System Lords continue to score win after win until Sokar challenged the current Heavyweight champion Krusher Kayls. At the PPV, me and Deshun would try one last attempt to get a win in a tag team match but would fail miserably. However I was not going to be denied, I decided to take matters into my own hands and waited until the main event match between Sokar and the champion. After a long and brutal match, Sokar would defeat Kayls to become the champion however he would show his dominance by attempting to end Kayl's career. Even though her boyfriend BM tried to save Kayls from Sokar, he was unsuccessful. Thankfully though I got in there just in time to catch Sokar of gaurd and leveled him with my Angel Slam. I took the Ultimate title and looked at it for a few brief moments before dropping it in the center of the ring. I would leave the arena ignoring the cheers from the crowd as I walked out of the building.
Dominion Wrestling: April 9th, 2010.
As it turned out, my plan worked. I was given a shot at the Ultimate title by the champion himself who wanted to punish me for my attack on him last season. I spent the whole week building up the match and even played some mind games with the champ. When it came time for us to fight, he proved to be much stronger than I thought, despite that however I was able to beat him to a standstill. Because the match was a draw though, the title does not change hands and thus I was denied. I would get a 2nd chance the following week though as the GM of DW Nino made a stable match featuring Me, Debra Rice, and the tag champions vs. the System Lords and if we win all the titles will be on the line at the PPV. I would meet my partners in the locker room moments before the match begins before we head out there and got ready to kick some ass. After a back and forth match, both teams eliminated each other until it came down to just me and Sokar. Although Sokar gained the upper hand, I was able to turn around and nail him with my Angel Slam that got me the win over him. This was a huge boost of confidence for me, not only did I get another crack at the championship but I proved that I could in fact defeat the champion. Using this as my motivation, I waited as the PPV came around the corner. I knew at this point it was do or die for me, if I couldn’t come home with the title I don't I would ever be able to live with myself. The main event match was as epic as anyone would have imagined, Sokar overwhelmed me with his size and power but I was not going to be denied here. After mustering enough energy, I was able to hit the Angel Slam and got the win. I was in utter shock, and when the reff handed me the belt, I just couldn’t believe it. All my life I've worked so hard for this one moment of Immortality and now I held that immortality right in the palm of my hands.........
I continued to be lost in my mind until a voice on the T.V snapped my out of my trance. Turns out the main event is almost here. I grabbed my stuff and got ready to go out there once more. I mean who knows? I've beaten the odds before and sure enough I can do it again. |
