Sympathy for the devil

I walk through the back stage area with my hands in the pockets of my long black trench coat. Many thoughts are running through my mind. The longer my wife is not with me, the more the wendigo will take over. A song comes to my mind and I sing a line from it that really makes me think.

"Whisper in a dead man's ear, it doesn't make it real. So let me rest in peace..."

Soon I bump into someone.

"My apologies. I should have been paying attention, but my mind is....else where at the moment"

just smiles at him.

Its alright i know the pain of losing some one like a wife.

I lean against the wall and take a pack of marlboro red 100s from the pocket of my jacket,flip one from the pack and put it between my lips,then take out a book of matches. I tear one out and strike it against the wall. I light the cigarette and take a long drawl, inhaling deep and slowly exhaling through my nose.

"Yea losing a wife is a terrible thing to go through. When I lose a wife...it could go bad for everyone."

smiles and nods.

Yea it can be so what are you going to do to get her back Raven.

Leans against the wall and pulls out a soda from my pocket and takes a drink of it.

How bad are you going to get to bring her back to your side

A sly smirk spreads over my face.

"What ever it takes. Alexander doesn't realize just what it is he's fucking with."

I take my trench coat off and hold out my left wrist.

"See that bump between the veins? I read about it in my family history."

I chuckle a bit.

"Any Cherokee male who is born during a storm while a raven observes will be a natural witch...and a Wendigo. A blood thirsty beast with no regard to who he hurts. The only cure is true love, but there's a catch. If that true love is lost, the curse can come back at any time. I feel it rising in me, coursing through my veins even as we speak. My eyes are usually gray, as you can see at the moment they are black."

"Sounds good to me. One thing's for sure. I am DONE with the empire...I sense the stench of treachery with that group..."

I hold out my hand. For some reason the movie Tombstone comes to mind and the next thing I say comes out in Val Kilmer's Doc Holliday voice.

"I don't have many friends..."

takes his hand and shakes it.

I slowly look around.

"I have this feeling that he has more people with him, at least one more. Maybe two. We should get some more people. Though you and I alone would be like a Two Nation Army.... You know what they say though, the more the merrier..."

the more the merrier will be easier to find if its just the two of us one of them can sneak in while the other makes the noise.
