Scene one: A look into the past.
A Twelve year old Storming Raven sits in class by himself, he is reading from a large leather bound book,The complete works of Shakespeare. It has been two months since his father passed away. He was always a quiet child and kept to himself, though lately his temper was getting the best of him. He has already been suspended three times this year, once more and it will be expulsion. Soon a group of four guys come in. They stop for a second as they see Storming Raven sitting there. They walk over and the ring leader gets in Storming Raven's face.
“Hey Injun, looks like you could use a hair cut.”
Storming Raven doesn't say anything. He just closes his book. He calmly stands up, picks up the book and smashes it with all his force into the guy's nose. As the guy falls to the ground holding his nose, blood spurting through his fingers, the teacher walks in.
“Mr. Cochran! To the principal's office now!”
Storming Raven just shrugs and picks up his back pack before walking out of the class room with his head held high. After about twenty minutes of waiting, he is called back to the principal's office.
“Another act of violence, Mr. Cochran? What are we going to do with you? You're so smart, so much potential, what would your father say?”
Storming Raven shrugs without missing a beat, he says:
“Next time scalp the bastard?”
The principal's face turns a brilliant shade of red and spit flies from his mouth as he yells.
“THAT'S IT! YOU'RE EXPELLED! GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE NOW!!!”
The principal throws Storming Raven out of his office. Storming Raven just stands up, walks out of the office and down the hall, out the door, to never return again. He walks all the way home. He doesn't make it into the house. His mother meets him at the door.
“I've had it, Brian. I just don't know what to do with you anymore. I want you out of the house!”
Again Storming Raven shrugs and starts walking down the street. He is strong, this is no big deal, he can make it on his own. He makes it to the park, and is met by the same group of four boys from this morning. The ring leader has a metal bat
“You broke my nothe, you red skinned bathard! Now we're gonna break you!”
The boys surround Storming Raven. The leader swings his bat, but Storming Raven ducks and the bat connects to the jaw of the boy behind Storming Raven. Stormy then grabs the leader's nose and twists, as he kicks the other two guys in the head. The leader passes out from the pain. When all four boys are laid out Storming Raven sits on the nearby bench to catch his breath. After a couple of minutes he checks all the boys pockets, and comes out with twenty dollars all together. City streets don't have much pity....
Scene 2: Amarillo by morning
Present day.
As the camera fades in Storming Raven is sitting at the Amarillo fairgrounds, watching a rodeo. He shakes his head in disgust. He looks into the camera.
“Last week was less than satisfying, though I finally got the win I've been looking for, it just didn't have the same thrill. I know I've been on a losing streak, but it will only get better. There are big things in store for me, because I am smart,I am strong, and I am brave, I will do whatever I have to do to survive. Just like I've always done. This Messiah is hopped up on his latest win, against an opponent that I softened up for him. He doesn't realize it is better to take your time to get to the top. I am reminded of a story of my people. There once was a father and son bull standing on a hill overlooking a cow pasture. The young bull says 'Hey pop, what do ya say we run down there, hop the fence and fuck one of those cows?' The old bull says 'No son, let's walk down, go through the gate, and fuck them all.' In this instance I would be the old bull. I know it is better to take your time, not expend all your energy at once. These things are a marathon, not a sprint.”
He continues to watch the rodeo. He waves his hand toward the bull riders.
“This is ridiculous, bull riders wearing helmets now? Where's the danger? What is life without the threat of danger? It's just like wrestling. All these prima donnas afraid of a little blood, sweat, and tears. Oh we don't WANT to do death matches, it's too dangerous! We could get seriously hurt! Wahh Wahh Wahh!! Well not me. Pain is merely weakness leaving the body. After I bring extreme wrestling back to the masses, and prove to everyone that it's not just all about weapons, but the will to survive, to keep going, maybe THEN the powers that be will see fit to put me in contention for some title, instead of wasting my time with all the scrubs in the company. Messiah this week, you enter a world of pain unlike any you have ever known. You enter the world of the Pride of the Cherokee Nation, the Extreme Cherokee Artist, your life is in my hands. A great man once said, 'Win if you can...SURVIVE if I LET YOU.” Well, I don't think I'm gonna let you. In this business only the strong survive. I don't mean just physical strength but mental strength as well. I am sick and tired of busting my ass every night just to be overlooked. It's nothing personal, Messiah....It's just business. The business of kicking your ass, and business is booming! Wakan Tanka Wasaka Maku Wo! (Great Spirit Give Me Strength)”
