UNDERGROUND 8: THE NEW ERALIVE From the Park Avenue Armory New York, NYVinnie Paulos:
So ladies and gentlemen I stand here before you a PROUD man, like a PROUD FATHER if you will. You see this past Sunday the Underground walked into From the Ashes and made our presence FELT!*CROWD CHEERS*Vinnie Paulos:
However this is just the beginning. You see things have just begun to kick into overdrive. Alex Dillinger from what I hear isn’t happy with what happened and surely he’ll be at Battlegrounds and surely I will be there as well. I told Mr. Dillinger that we would take action if he forced us to do so. Yet he continued to ignore us, now look at what he has to deal with. He gets to deal with a bunch of pissed off, talented, WRESTLERS that will no longer be overlooked.*CROWD CHEERS*Vinnie Paulos:
Needless to say as sort of an olive branch I would like to extend an offer for the IWF Champion Gordon Fury to make a special appearance on Underground. Now before you say no Mr. Fury I think it’s time everyone be let in on a little something. Most of you must have been thinking, you know Vinnie you must be absolutely insane to go against your boss and to defy him so openly without fear of consequences. Well you’re all right. I would be insane if that was the case. However I’m lucky enough to have someone in my corner. Someone that sees my vision and someone that just so happens to be the majority shareholder for the IWF. Please allow me to introduce you to BRUNO...FRIEDRICH!!!Just as Vinnie announces his name a large man steps through the curtain with a cigar in his mouth, aviators over his eyes and a freshly pressed black and grey pinstripe suit. Walking down the ramp he climbs up and over the top rope getting in the ring clapping with a grin before taking Vinnie’s hand and shaking it.
Vinnie Paulos:
Thank you for coming here tonight Mr. Friedrich, I know you’re a very busy man and I do appreciate you coming down here today. So without further adieu I hand the microphone over to you sir.Bruno takes the microphone from Vinnie’s hands and looks around at the crowd that’s buzzing from the possible news. Everyone likes news.
Bruno Friedrich:
Good evening NEW YORK!*CROWD CHEERS*Bruno Friedrich:
Vinnie came to me the other day and he brought to me a proposal. One that I couldn’t overlook and just pass up. This man is going to lead the Underground into new heights. But that doesn’t mean I don’t see Alex Dillinger’s point in having to earn your stripes. I’m going to give the Underground it’s opportunity to prove it’s worth my investment. Bruno hands the microphone back to Vinnie as Vinnie encourages the crowd to clap as Mr. Friedrich leaves the ring heading towards the back once again.
Vinnie Paulos:
While I can’t give the specific details just yet. I would like to reassure everyone in the back that big changes are coming and that we will get our chance...our chance to prove ourselves. Now let’s get this show underway and show the world what REAL WRESTLING is all about!!!The scene fades out before the intro for Battlegrounds kicks off the show.
The lights in the arena circle around as the crowd gets crazy. Real wrestling fans stand on their feet and pack themselves into the arena for a chance to witness IWF: Underground. The entrance video for the Underground begins to play and the fans are going insane.
Just then as the music fades out we cut to the middle of the ring where ring announcer and commentator Calvin Jones is standing holding a microphone. The crowd continues to be rowdy and unsettled.

Winner: HalestormThe cameras cut to the back as Dean Vandal is standing in the locker room opening up his gym bag. Chris Cryptic comes rushing up from behind Dean and places his hand on his shoulder causing Dean to jump and turn around to face a pissed of Chris. Dean smirks and runs his hand through his dirty blonde locks.
Dean Vandal:
What’s up bud?Chris Cryptic:
Don’t what’s up bud me!Chris grabs Dean’s shirt collar wrapping it up in his fist before slamming him up against the locker door. Dean continues to smirk and chomp on a piece of bubblegum looking to be unphased.
Chris Cryptic:
You told me that Gordon would be left out of this and yet when I watched the damn tape back you attacked him!Dean Vandal:
Relax Christopher, this is war. There are certain casualties of war. You know that just as well as I do. Besides if you watched the tape you can clearly see Gordon grab my shoulder and turn me around to strike me. I simply beat him to the punch, literally.Chris Cryptic:
You have no idea what you’re even on about now. You’re losing it man. I don’t know about this whole Holy Crusade that we’re going on. Things are getting too hectic. What happened about just proving that we’re better than them? Now some big investor is in play. Money is starting to become an obvious motivation.Dean Vandal:
Well I knew money would come into play, I’m hungry Chris and I’m going to get my mouth and my wallet fed because I’m the best and should be treated as such. You’re better than them just as much as I am. If you don’t know that and you’re afraid to accept that...well so be it, that’s your own problems you need to work through. But make no mistake Chris this is war and if you don’t change you’re thinking well then you’ll only get caught off guard. Don’t think for an instant that they even care for you in the least bit, especially not after last night.Chris slowly releases his grip and stares Dean in the eyes. Dean’s facial expression changes from a cocky prick to a confident leader.
Chris Cryptic:
I don’t even know what to think anymore Dean, I need to get outta here. I’ve got the night off so I’m gonna get going. Just for the record, I’m not a fan of this entire thing.Dean Vandal:
It’s ok Chris, I know it’s a lot to take in. Eventually it’ll click and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about….Chris shakes his head before heading out of the locker room leaving a whistling Dean behind.
Dean Vandal:

I am so sorry
Can you forgive me for this?Calvin Jones: What the hell?Night Surgeon from
Repo: A Genetic Opera begins to blare on the speakers. Gilbert Gold makes his way to the ring, rushing out from the backstage in a huff. He seems dazed, confused and almost hurt.
Calvin Jones: Ladies and Gentlemen, Underground's newest developmental Superstar and one of the attackers on Brandon Macdonald at From The Ashes, Gilbert Gold is making his way to the ring. And he doesn't look to good. Not the Dead Doctor with hungry scalpel
Here's my prognosis; Will they live?
DOUBTFUL!Gold is ignoring the crowd as this point, not making eye contact with a single fan, much to their displeasure. He seems almost ashamed to even look as some of his fans.
You're the street Physician
Carving flesh sculptures
Paint your ass like a Rembrandt
Ha! You like-a that?
Better start praying when you see him coming
'Cause tonight it's curtains
You're the Night Surgeon!Gilbert is in the ring now, head bowed and facing the ring canvas. As the chorus comes into play, Gilbert starts to raise his head, revealing a sinister smile that is nothing like what he came in with. He bows to each side of the ring, finally giving the fans recognition. A few cheer, but most don't really know what to think of the guy, especially since his role at FTA.
Remember who you are... [I remember...] (Remember what you did to Marni)
Remember who you are... [I remember! ] (Remember what you did to her! )The music fades out as the crowd waits for whatever it is Gold is out here for. When you can no longer hear the chiller tune, his smile fades as well, revealing a very serious Gilbert. He grabs a microphone from a ringside assistant, taps it a few times...
***tap tap tap***...and proceeds to speak.
Gilbert Gold: Ladies and Gentlemen, girls and guys...various Human/Alien Hybrids living among us...I owe you all TWO things here tonight. First off, I owe those of you who knew who I was in the past an explanation of why I did what I did at From The Ashes. You see, Underground had the privilege of watching the Pay-Per-View from backstage. It was actually very nice of the backstage crew to set up a huge LED T.V. to watch ever detail of the night! We saw blood, we saw how hot Blyss is, we saw Flex Johnson reach for the stars, we saw Tim Patrick bust out an amazing display...WE SAW IT ALL!The crowd cheers, but only for the finest show ever in From the Ashes. They are still skeptical at what Gold wants to give the crowd.
Gilbert Gold: But the one thing I didn't see, that no detailed television made by Sony can let us view, was the betrayal and brutality and utter carnage that happened in the Main Event between Gordon Fury and Brandon Macdonald. Now, when I found out about Mr. Macdonald being an 'alleged' murderer and drug lord, I was shock and appalled. When I was told that there was a SWAT team waiting for him to finish his match, I did wonder if it would actually be enough. Then, I thought my questions were answered, by none other than Vinnie Paulo. The crowd cheers for Vinnie, remembering his announcements from last week.
*VINNIE PAULO*
Clap, Clap, Clap-clap-clap
*VINNIE PAULO*
Clap, Clap, Clap-clap-clapGilbert Gold: I know, you like that guy. I didn't think I would at first, but at FTA he made the Underground an offer. And that offer was an opportunity to not only show what the Underground had to offer, but an opportunity to bring down a murdering junkie and get him behind bars. We were told that we would be heroes of the night! And so what happens when we get into the ring when Brandon Macdonald has his arm over Fury for the pin? We go out and Vinnie...
...makes it all about himself. The crowd starts to boo over the fact that Gilbert is not as big of a fan as they originally thought. He holds his hand up to try and silence the audience.
Gilbert Gold: Vinnie Paulo decides that, with Alex Dillinger out of the picture, that HE is the one in charge of the biggest night of the year for IWF. I beat up an official referee for this guy and what does he do? Pulls a rather cowardly power move!
*Boo*
*Boo*
*Boo*Gilbert Gold: I helped out this Underground thinking that this was the right moment for myself and very...very...few others on this show to get somewhere without whining and complaining. To take action. But Vinnie then makes the call for Dean Savage, whom even the boys from Jersey Shore think is a major douche, and gets him to beat the snot out of Brandon. It was a terrible call for several reason; Dean Savage is better at waving a white flag in France than wrestling here in IWF, Brandon STILL got up to his feet to finish the match, Alex Dillinger was out of the building IN CRITICAL PAIN and Vinnie leaped in to push his own agenda. Not the Underground's. His own.Gilbert Gold is getting mixed reactions from the crowd now, but the vast majority is still keeping true to Vinnie Paulo and the IWF Underground. Still, some cheers and a few fans questioning some things are making it worth while, as some of them know that Gilbert might be right in his assumptions.
Gilbert Gold: So, that brings me to the second thing that I owe everyone.
An apology.
I owe an apology to the fans for what I did. I owe an apology to Gordon Fury and Brandon Macdonald for interrupting their match. I owe Alex Dillinger an apology for playing a part in Vinnie's takeover. I owe an apology to the ref I suplexed into oblivion. And finally...Gilbert looks straight at the camera with a glare befitting a king cobra snake.
Gilbert Gold: Vinnie, I owe you an apology...for ever being a part of your scam to become more that just a paper-pushing nerd! The crowd doesn't boo or cheer at that one. A few yell out "BURN", while most are just in awe that someone under Vinnie Paulo just told him off.
Gilbert Gold: I'm going to keep short and sweet, Vinnie. I followed orders that night because I thought it would benefit the entire Underground. I was in the wrong and I will work off my debt to these fans and to Alex in whatever way ALEX DILLINGER sees fit. If that means that I'm stuck in Underground for my entire career, so be it. If that mean I have to face a heavy-hitter in the deadliest match imaginable, then so be it. Calvin Jones: I don't know if this guy is brave or just stupid. Maybe a little of both?Gilbert Gold: Vinnie, I'm telling you right now that I am no longer going to be part of your little game. Adorabelle, Dean Savage and all the rest of them may be wrapped around your sausage-like pinky, but I'm done. I'm not marring my conscience anymore for your selfish needs. I'm a wrestler, not a street fighter and not your minion. If I'm on anyone's team...I'm on Dillinger's from here on in!
So Vinnie, screw you all the way to Hell! And with a drop of the microphone, Gilbert Gold makes his way out of the ring.
