Blyss Lockhart [vs] Ruby Winters

Blyss Lockhart prepares for a day with the media as they have requested to interview her with regards to her voluntary departure from the Empire. Since last Battle Grounds, she’s been a wanted woman by the different wrestling magazines and online websites. But she only allows a full sit-down interview the day before the next show.

I told you change was coming... If not sooner than later... Having the patience and knowing exactly when to strike always pay off. The bleak days where you would wake up to nothing but shadows are now over. The bloody visions through covert eyes are now washed clean. The tremor within your touch is now calm. The spring in your steps has returned once again. Breathe the free air, Blyss. You’ve successfully untangled yourself from the webs of the Empire and you’re now your own person.

But I’m still here with you, Blyss. I’ll never leave you. Besides, it isn’t quite over yet. The Empire still lives and you, like many others in the locker rooms, want to see them fall. You’re not the first to walk away and you won’t be the last either. Though for now, you deserve a little payback to the one who first started making your life miserable.

A smile creeps across the mouth of Blyss as she sits by herself in the holding room before the interview commences. This week is most definitely looking up for the young Chicago native as she finally made her leave from the grip of the Empire. Enough is enough. Joining the Order is proving to be the best career decision so far. It finally feels like she actually has friends in the company and she no longer has to constantly watch her back. She’s even willing to brush aside the fact that she won’t be facing Tiffani Michaels at Nowhere To Run. Instead, it would be Molly Reid and she’s okay with that. Since Tiffani joined the dark side, Blyss wanted nothing more than the Queen of Wrestling championship title to be taken off that cheerleader but if that meant putting her in yet another triple threat, she’s glad Jessica Matthews instead scheduled for a big Winner-Take-All mixed tag match for the QoW and Uprising titles at Ascension. Not only that, her personal life is picking up as well. She’s found someone special in her life who makes her happy and is very supportive of her. She can’t wait to see him again next week. And oh, it’s most definitely not Matt Stone...

Who?

Shaking her head slightly, she glances around. Then she checks her reflection in the mirror in front of her, brushing through her hair with her fingers before rubbing her chin. Philip Joseph, Axle Vengeance, hell, even Corey Casey can say whatever they want about her. She did try to be a team player but all her efforts went down the drain. As much as she had wanted to be right about how Ruby couldn’t be trusted, she also wanted to be proven wrong. Ruby was a former Queen of Wrestling champion but she didn’t show it and instead cost both of them the title win. And then later to say she could have gone to those two schmucks, Philip and Axle, for some advice in the first place is truly laughable. Philip now even gloats about the fact that he had taken out both her and Ruby to advance in the tournament and never fails to mention how inferior women are in this so-called “man’s sport”. He only cares about himself and that makes her sick. As if they hadn’t taken her out of the tournament by the most dishonest way ever.

Dishonorable acts should lead to undesirable consequences.

Her eyebrows knit together in a frown as she leans back in her chair. This feels... Different.

I am different, Blyss. Because this time, we shall do it step by step. Uncontrollable rage is just so... passé. It was your weakness in your past and it will be again so bide your time now. Start with Ruby.

She breathes out slowly. She has to admit, it feels better too. She shudders at the thought of slipping back into the old life. She almost did, getting a reminiscent glimpse of it when she had felt so frustrated with her failures of capturing the Queen of Wrestling championship and the unfair treatment by her former cohorts. She had been too emotional, too enraged, and didn’t realize it to be a weakness in the eyes of her rivals. What kind of a queen is that? ...None. And deep down, she grudgingly knows that.

This is not the time to say such things. What’s done is done. Jessica’s given you the greatest gift and that is the main event for this upcoming Battle Grounds. Ruby will face the consequences for tormenting you for the past few weeks. She will learn why she should have never walked into the Empire. Why she will NEVER be the champion again. You get to put the closure on the Ruby hunt...

Blyss looks up as a girl who seems a few years younger than her stares back with a cup of coffee in hand. The girl has a pair of headsets on and a clipboard under one arm. She looks like the PA who had escorted her to the room earlier.



Blyss looks at the clock hung on the wall with bits of paint peeling off and back at the now worried girl with a nonchalant expression on her face. Then she receives the cup from the PA and slightly raises an eyebrow before smiling once more.

The PA scuttles out of the room. Blyss returns her attention to the mirror, rubbing her shoulder this time while grimacing slightly.

Pain... It truly does linger.
